Mothers Day

It's Mother's Day tomorrow where I am. Anybody celebrate this? I usually forget about it, but they're making such a big deal on the TV, and such, I'm thinking maybe I should buy some flowers, or something.

There used to be this great video of a Joyce Tribute I was going to post in honor of the day. It's gone. I found some others though.

I really intended to buy a present for my Mom, but with my Dad's birthday nearby I didn't have any money. Well, I think I'll bake a cake tomorrow and help a lot with all kinds of housework.

One time my brother and I forgot about Mother's Day, and we were making a cake out of pure coincidence. Then, we heard on the radio it was Mother's Day and quickly decided to make the cake our present. Lol, we were so lucky.

Keanoite- I think in the UK and Ireland Mother's Day is the second Sunday in Lent, whereas in the US and Canada it's the second Sunday in May. Weird but true. Haha.

And yes, I have a present and card for my Mommy, hehe, and I'll be seeing her tomorrow. Well, she's coming here anyway. Making husband cook like the kitchen slave he is. Haha. And this is the first Mother's Day where I'm actually one of the Moms which is new and fun and exciting, even though my daughter's not even a month old but still.....

A friend of mine uploaded it on her YouTube account a while ago before it got all deleted (for like the fifth time on like five different peoples' accounts. Stupid Fox Buffy Nazis) and she now just has it on megaupload for her site.

I also forgot when mothers day was... Until like a week and a half ago then i realized we're having my baby shower tomorrow (mothers day) lol surprisingly enough we still have people showing up for it..... I got my mom early mothers day flowers.... and i got my boyfriends mom a cheap teddy bear.... but since i have no job my step mom and grandma are going to have to live with a phone call...

I think alot of people forget about Mother and Fathers day..... then when you realize it you feel so bad about it lol

Well I lost my last twenty bucks at a mini mart on Wednesday so my mom's gonna have to be happy with a plastic yard flower thing and some chicken wind chimes. 😀

Oh you bet - I am sleeping in, kicking my feet up, getting waited on hand and foot...wait...I MUST be dreaming if I think that's happening! HA!

Actually Hubby, my daughter and I go downtown to the Tulip Festival every year so we'll be doing that. Then he is cooking me dinner...steak on the bbq, baked potatoe, green beans, rice pilaf. And an ice cream cake for dessert. 😀

I have a card and present for my mom - I will stop by there on the way back from downtown tomorrow morning. I can't WAIT for Mother's Day! It's so great that Father's Day falls AFTER Mother's Day...the guys realize if THEY want a day to relax, maybe sleep in etc. then they better well make sure their wives enjoy their day first lol.

I'll be spending Mother's Day with my little girl. My hubbie has to work, so it's just me and her. Which is fine with me, because I just started a new job with "unlimited overtime" meaning I'm in the office 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. So, tomorrow is our day. I'm thinking picnic if it's nice out. If not, then Chuck E. Cheese. I just love their pizza!

Mothers day in Sweden is the last sunday in May. But it´s always good to be remembered in time. Especially since none of my almanacs had it written. ::grrr:: My memory sucks. I won´t visit my mom but the least I can do is to phone her and let her know I´m thinking of her. Not that much I now. But I guess my big sister will invite my parents to her (she usually does) so maybe I can get in on some prestent of som sorts.

Great, now I can actually do something. Usaully it´s too late since I don´t realize it´s mothers day until the day actually arives. Thanks a million.

Well so far I am planning on calling my mom a little later this morning. I don't want to call her too early and wake her up. Myself I don't have any plans but to play with Ryan. I was going to take him to the park to play but it's raining outside so we will probably stay home. I think my boyfriend has plans on fixing me a nice steak dinner for supper tonight which I'm looking forward too.

I'm such a grouch about Mother's Day - I just think it's another way to get money out of us all 'lol'

You don't need a special day of the year to let your mum know that you love her, or father for that matter. 😉 I would rather the kids and hubby spend their money on other things instead of buying cards & flowers that just end up being thrown away.

My own mum is just the same, but we're both very alike I guess, & I would imagine that's where I get it from.

I'm not saying it's not nice to get pampered or put my feet up etc, but my hubby and kids do that for me all year through so I fortunately don't have to wait till Mother's Day to do it. 😀

My sister and I took my mom out to lunch at her favorite restaraunt (would have liked to pay for my sister too, as she is also a mother, but my wallet's lookin' pretty sad these days). I was also going to buy her a fish, which is all she wanted, today, but I have to do that tomorrow after I get paid now. And I'm going to hand-pack her a pint of Forbidden Chocolate ice cream before I leave work tonight with my last few bucks as a surprise. She said she wanted me to, but I told her I refused, as Forbidden Chocolate is a royal pain to scoop. So, there'll be a surprise for her in the freezer tomorrow.

I sort of agree with edb though, but my mother certainly doesn't... so there isn't much I can do about it!
