Motion comic instead of the real comics?

hi,

im planing to watch/read the season 8, so i would like to know yout opinion on the motion comics.

i would prefere to watch the motion comic instead of reading the comics, just because its way cheaper than the paper stuff 😀

the episodes are like 99ct on amazon, but a comic is around 10€

does the extra contend in the comics worth the upcharge? i clicked through the previews on amazon, but there are just a few pages to watch, i cant realy make a decicion based on that.

and does sbdy know how much the whole season in paper form would be? are there maybe some bargains i should know about? like a complete season pack or something?
 
I've recently started collecting the season 8 volumes, I honestly prefer them to the motion comics, but I suppose that's because I read a lot of books 😛 kinda the reason why I could never buy an Amazon Kindle. Bit like Giles and his hate for computers 😉

Anywho, having the actual comics is much better than the motion ones. The comics have extras like covers. I'm from the UK and I pay about 7 pounds each for my comics, so I suppose buying the volumes everytime could be a bit costly.

Overall, paper!
 
Just adding this as something to keep in mind. I know from what I've seen on amazon of the motion comics, there are only 19 episodes, but there are 40 comics. So over half of the season is missing. (At least it was last time I checked)
 
your right, episode 20 and beyond are not available (yet).

but the bluray was releast just 3 month ago, so maybe the other part of season 8 is simply not yet "motionized" 😀

or are there some sources that imply that the missing episodes wont be released/produced?


but spending 3-400€ for the comics is out of the question for me anyway...

maybe there will be some cheaper reprints or something like that!? i dont know much about comics, but i think the majority of the fans wont spend that much money. 🙁

Well I think there are 8 of the book-like form of the comics. (Each book has 5 issues I think) I was pricing them recently and found the first few books for $5 each and the newer ones for about $10 each. I'm going to wait until the newer ones are cheaper then just buy them all at once. 😀

But they will probably come out with the later part on motion comic sooner or later. I doubt they'd just do half then stop.

There are Buffy trades, each trade is about 5 issues. All of season 8 is available in 8 trades, and one trade is roughly $20. I recommend buying the comics, since it's always more fun to read a comic book than to watch it on TV. Plus, at the Dark Horse panel they weren't sure if the rest of season 8 was going to be released
 
I add my vote to buy the comics. I watched the first motion comic and a few lines were deleted. Reading it is much better than buying it. Also, the voices are annoying.
 
reading better than buying?!

i dont have a problem with the reading part, just with buying them to the prices that are called for them now😀

could you look up the ISBN on your issues plz? i cant find anything on amazon if i search for "buffy trade"

You can pretty much just look up (on amazon) Buffy season 8 Volume 1' (or 2, or 3, ect ect) and find them.
 
thx, i thought this is simply the first issue of the comics, cus it nowere says to be a bundle or something like that.

its not that expensiv after all🙂
 
Yeah, amazon has some really good prices for the TPB (trade paperbacks). I haven't seen the Motion Comics, so I can't compare. I do like reading the comics in TPB rather than individual issues. I like the flow of an entire arc, plus I dont' have to deal with the annoying ads.
