Movie Origin or Comic Origin: Which Do You Prefer?

A pretty straight forward question. Which version of Buffy's origin (or when she was called to be exact) do you prefer? The 1992 movie with Kristy Swanson, or the comic book based on Joss' original script?

I myself prefer the comic MASSIVELY more than the movie. The comic, since it came out during the show's peak, was much closer in feeling to the show than the movie was (Which is understandable considering that the show was still barely a twinkle in Joss' eye), but still, the comic holds up better than the movie does.

I prefer the comic book version of Buffy's Calling, especially the fact that both Merrick and Lothos were portrayed as though they actually had some clue as to what was going on. The movie couldn't decide if it was a horror movie with comedic elements or a comedy with overtones of horror, and wound up missing both marks.

I've never read the comic version... I hated the original movie though so I think anything would be better than that.
