Does anyone have a particularly favorite movie that you would like to see made into a TV series? This could be a direct changeover, with same actors and locations, or some kind of spinoff like the "Highlander" series was, with basically the same universe and same rules, but with different characters.

For example, I think that the movie, "I Am Legend," would make a great series, especially if the zombie plague theme were abandoned in favor of the original story, which involved the last surviving human in a world overrun by vampires. Of course, for a TV show, there should be more than just a single survivor.

Highlander karma :)
I think they wanna make Scorsese's Goodfellas and Hitchcock's Psycho into series. Or they at least wanna make shows that are based upon those movies.
It could be pretty interesting. The TV movie Psycho IV: The Beginning is about Norman Bates' past and about what drove him to become a murderer.
According to the article I read, the series is also supposed to be something like that.

But I don't know if making some of my favorite movies into series is such a good idea.
Those things can always backfire. Although they could be awesome, there's always a risk.

Anyway, I think Sin City and Die Hard could be really cool TV shows... if you do it right.

I don't know about making any movies into TV shows. With Buffy being one of the rare exceptions of course, it doesn't ever seem to go well.

M.A.S.H. was originally a movie ;) and it was quiiite successful but yeah that doesn't always happen haha
Push, I heard they were making it into a tv show, but haven't heard anything in a while.

The movie had a great mythology that they didn't get to fully explore.

I can't think of a television show that I'd like to see turned into a movie...I've often thought that I'd like to see t.v. shows turned into movies though. For instance, Dollhouse...I really want to see that made into a movie. It was such a cool/interesting idea, it just could have been executed better. I asked my mom this question, and she suggested Prison Break haha that could possibly make a good movie, even though I laughed at just about everything on that show, it was entertaining.

I also think about it when I read books/play certain video games, that some of them would make awesome movies. I sometimes can even look at a really cool sign or just...neighborhood and think "I want to turn this into a movie", but I really cannot think of a single movie that I want to see made into a t.v. show.

Maybe it's because I watch a lot of weird ass movies that would make very...odd t.v. shows. Like Mulholland Dr., I'd watch that if Lynch somehow made it into one, but I doubt it would last very long.

JCoatsworth yeah I've heard about a possible "Goodfellas" series, but in all honesty, we pretty much already have that (The Sopranos). You know? But if they do, I wouldn't hesitate to watch it, it's my all time favorite movie. 🙂

I actually don't have any movies I want made into TV series. My favorites are fine the way they are. Now, if we're talking TV series being made into movies..........Veronica Mars, Veronica Mars, Veronica Mars, Veronica Mars!!!!!!!!!!. Sorry, just had to get that out. We deserve closure. 🙁

This Year's Girl
YES, Where's my VM movie?!
The Sorcerer's Apprentice. The whole first half of that movie felt like a pilot to me. And it would have made a VERY interesting show.

My first thought was "Sex and The City!" ...oh wait.

My favourite film is Pride and Prejudice, but that WAS a TV series, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

I'd like to see a TV series based on the X-Men movies, featuring the students at Professor X's academy. Patrick Stewart would appear in a few episodes each season, and there would be occasional cameos by the various senior X-Men.
