Movies That Made You Run Out Of Theater After A Few Minutes

Does anybody have this kind of experience?

Mine: Pacific Rim, Man of Steel.

Both were too unbearable for me to sit through.🙁

I go to the cinema quite frequently and occasionally you just have to give up on the film because it's too painful to sit through.

What Just Happened - Robert De Niro drives in his car and talks on his phone. Bruce Willis has a beard. Our group of 4 left after 30-60 minutes. Many more had left before us.

Movie 43 - Someone blackmailed half of Hollywood into appearing in this absolute mess of a film. There was something funny in the trailer but nothing in the 30-60 minutes we sat through before leaving.

The Zero Theorem - So stressful to watch I actually felt like I was at work. I think we got about half way through before calling it a day.

Home - I don't mind checking out some kids / family friendly films. You can get some nice surprises like Toy Story and How To Train Your Dragon. This however isn't one of them. Fortunately my girlfriend found it just as terrible and annoying and we were out of there after about 20 minutes.

I get the feeling I've left a couple more as well that I can't think of right now. Honourable mentions for films that I'd have left if it were just me and no one else to keep happy:

Sex and They City, Anna Karenina, 50 Shades of Grey, Date Movie, The Danish Girl - All awful.

Date Movie was the only one I can think of. I went in not knowing anything about it (apart from Alyson Hannigan was in it) and felt like I was the only sane guy in the asylum. Everyone around me was hooting with laughter at the dumbest shit I have ever seen get a cinema release. I gave it 40 soul-sucking minutes and then left to consider my place in the world. No comedy has ever left me so depressed at the human condition.

Oh, also Sex And The City 2- my ex was such a huge fan of the show and the first movie, even she couldn't stand this shallow money grab. We left after an hour. I still hate the series and think this film is a perfect illustration as to why.

I'm not sure if I've seen them in anything else so I've only got this to go on. To be fair to them they weren't given much to work with so I imagine they've done a lot better on other projects.

Not walked out of a movie, because I'm British and therefore far too polite for my own good, but I have fallen asleep during a few, the most recent being the Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2.

But to be fair to Jennifer Lawrence et al, I had flown from Sydney to Heathrow two days prior and I was still severely jetlagged!

Never walked out of a movie. Fell asleep during Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D, though. And I really felt like standing up and walking out during The Wolf of Wall Street. Maybe I didn't 'understand' it, as it actually seems to be a pretty good commentary on our society - or so I hear - but it felt like a waste of my time and money and wasn't even entertaining.

In the States I went to the flicks with my extended family to see 'The Others'. All 7 of them fell asleep they found it so dull. They said it was a waste of money.
I liked the twist at the end but the movie took a long time getting to the damn point.

I don't think I've ever walked out of a movie because the film was bad. Funnily enough the only time I have walked out was during a screening of Serenity that me and my ex went to - we had went to the cheap bar across from the cinema that do doubles for 2 quid, got absolutely blootered and I somehow managed to split up with him in the front row of the cinema twenty minutes into the film. Christ.
I really liked what I saw though.
I was close to walking out of The Dark Knight Rises back when that came out, mostly because I couldn't feel my butt. Films that are on for way too long and when you're watching at the cinema sort of turns into a psychological test.

Glengarry Glen Ross had to be the stupidest movie ever and I never got to the end of it. Why did these people depend on "leads" given to them by some unseen hand (almost sounds like The Powers That Be or the Senior Partners). Get another job, you useless dorks! And get out of the rain.

Candy was a movie about an older man taking an interest in a younger girl, sort of like Lolita but without the artistic merit. One of the stupider images from the movie: a doctor is performing brain surgery and he attaches an electrical outlet to the patient's head. They plug in a radio, turn it on and everyone in the operating room dances to the music. The sort of thing you tended to get with late 60's experimental "culture".

Woah stop right there! Your girlfriend dragged you away from The Holy Grail and she's now your wife! I just can't wrap my head around that 😕

There have been plenty of examples of films I never saw at the cinema and rented on DVD instead, only to switch the DVD off halfway through because it was so bad.

Fifty Shades of Grey got switched off after 30 minutes. I just couldn't watch that drivel anymore. I admit, I was curious about it, but what a waste of a rental movie.

Really?! I was really looking foward to this movie 🙁 Haven't seen it yet, but it looked great.

I have never walked out of a theatre, but quite often I start a movie on Netflix and give up 10 min in if it's really cringy, especially with horror flicks. I love horror movies, but a lot of them are awful.

I have walked out on *waits for boos, hisses and tomatoes to be thrown* Titanic. But it's very rare for me to walk out even on a movie I don't enjoy, I just suffer in silence and then never shut up about it afterwards instead.

You just reminded me! I walked out on the Titanic multiple times, trying to watch that bore fest! A few years ago I finally manged to watch the whole thing, and I maintain it's one of the most boring movie I've ever seen.
