Ok Does anyone find that moving kinda starts to tear your family apart with stress and stuff sometimes?

We are moving to tuscaloosa alabama this weekend and i for one really dont wanna go cause in the past 10 months we've moved a total of like 9 times... first time i hated it cause i had been there off and on for 8 yrs the rest i didn't mind till the 9th time i moved from the city i loved which is pensacola to here mobile and then i started to get my life together here like friends trying to get into school and my dad's girlfriend left him like totally packed all her things while we were gone and moved to tuscaloosa to be closer to her family now she is pregnant and wants my dad back he said yes they've been back together for like 3 weeks now and she told him he had to move to tuscaloosa to be with her so now he's uprooting our family no matter what we want to go up there... So now me and him have been fighting, me and his girlfriend have been fighting and now me and my grandmother are fighting and she is being stubborn and saying how she is gonna work on saturday the day we move then she'll drive up there alone when she doesn't even know how to get there! so now she is threatening to just live her and be alone...... so did i mention i hate moving...

so does anyone else's family kinda go disfunctional during moving times or is it just mine.....?

We're dysfunctional like that all the time!
I moved allot when I was younger, but not recently I did not mind cuz I did not have to move school, but I did have to keep leaving the friends I made around the various places.
Moving's a bitch!

Yeah i mean i got kicked outta school like last year for being sick all the time so i was so set to go back and actually get my education cause i've missed school and i know if i am not excited about something i wont do it and i mean with all this moving i'm starting to get less excited and i know i should do the whole school thing but with the moving all the time thing i am afraid of getting a life started cause i dunno if my dad will move us agian plus my mom is sick so i may have to move to delaware at the beggining of '06.... Moving really is a b*tch...... on the plus side to the moving i'll only be off line for like a day cuz dad has it set up to get cable/internet installed on monday

That sucks 🙁 I've never moved but my parents have talked about it, my grandparents arn't thrilled about it, and neither was I, the only time I wanna move is when I move out.

i've moved so many times I've lost track, it's a hard thing to get used to but the excitment of a new place always helps.

I've moved a few times, and every time I do it, I hope it's the last! The longer you have lived somewhere, the more junk you accumulate, the harder it is to move. I hope I stay put for a very long time.

It's not just you... I'm sorry to hear that you had to move so much though... you beat me to it, lol j/k
Moving broke my family apart and brought my mother down on her knee because it's such a pain every time and it's physically very hard... I guess that plus getting used to new thing, it's just too much at one time

Moving once in a while can be great, meet new ppl, start afresh and stuff... but when it's TOO much like for you, it's normal that it has bad effects.

I hope you'll get a chance to settled down and stay in the place you love! 🙂
Best of luck with that A B101

I've moved twice... once when I was just a baby, cause my parents were expecting my brother and they just needed a bigger house. And the second time, I was like ten and I was really excited about it, cause I really didn't like my hometown... very baaad memories still, anyhow, let's not get into my childhood trauma's... moving can be good every so often a new place, fresh start... but 9 times in 10 months is a bit much.

your telling me i think i have major childhood tramua lol i mean i'm not even excited about moving to you know a new town i mean i'm gonna have 3 new step brothers, a new step sis and alittle half brother or sis on the way... its just too much change for me...

Wow that is a lot to get used to.But eventually you will get used to it.Unless you keep moving around a lot.I used to move a lot too but we finally stopped and I'm here to stay for a long while.

baby: so sorry about that! the moving. its hard to move, (well as i'm sure you know!!!) specially when you don't wanna! My psycologist told me, when i moved (not by choice) in the end of june/beginging of july, that moving is really hard on the people who do it. like with couples or familys. because its stress ful, its hectic, its NOT fun and it just tend to wear people down. and when people get worn down they tend to get inpatient(sp?) and that can lead to fighting etc.

My family is a tad bit dysfuncunal as well.. so much baggage.

i understand that it might be tough to start over when you get somewhere(and get your life started) when you don't know how long your there for. hope things get better for you!!!

Sorry that you had to move so much. Sending good thoughts to you to help get you through. Hopefully, this is where you will make roots and stay. 🙂

I've moved once. I don't remember it. So, I'm not really sure. I've moved back and forth in between home and college apartment, but I don't think that really counts, because I still had my original home to go back to.

My family and I are planning on moving one final time. We are looking at moving to Nevada in 2008.

Wow that's a lot of moving, sorry to hear about that, sounds pretty bad, hmm..

I've never had to move to another city, except for when I was like one year old. But my family is pretty unexisting anyway, my parents are divorced and I have no siblings so... It's never been a problem, there isn't much of a family to break up. (I'm saying that in a good way, I love my parents, I just don't have a family.)

well we did move to tuscaloosa and i still think it kinda sucks cuz my ex fiance is down there and i'm still in love with him but up here i have a job, and i have more things to do. So its alittle better for things to do but i still am on the kick where it sucks lol my room is alot smaller......we're all getting along Alittle better now

Re:

I'm glad things are getting along for you hun...But I have to agree, moving makes people crazy....My parents moved to Seattle Washington when I was 21, and I stayed here in Illinois. Talk about major drama. But next year I'm hoping to move out there with them....NO MORE FRIGGIN CORN FIELDS! LOL

For you I would say yes.

But for me no. I've moved a total of 7 times in my life.
It call be stressful for some people, especially if you have alot of belongs.
