MSN problems

i re-did my system and im trying to install msn messenger. i went to msn.com and clicked on the messenger link. i clicked "download now" and it goes through the downloading, then i get a pop-up message that says "MSN Messenger failed to install. Please go to the MSN Messenger Web site and download the software from there." im on the site. am i doing something wrong?
