hey i just watched the mtv video music awards 2002 and i thought it was total exellent!!! avril lavigne totally rule!!! and she proved that with her performances on the countdown and by picking up an award! what do you guys think? what did you think was the best performance? who deserved to win an award? did your fave win an award and performed well? tell me, please!

The best part of the show was P. Diddy, Usher, Busta Rhymes and all them playing different songs at the same time. I had a blast watching that. I think Nas should have won an award for 'One Mic'.
 
Not as good as other years. The performers were nothing special. Eminems performance was really good, not really a fan of his normally. I missed what perhaps would have been the best performance of the night (other than the boss) Guns 'n' Roses.
 
i saw all of it except the pre show and the last half hour i went to bed after Michelle Branch won! yay go her! ::wave::
 
P Diddy, pharrell, usher,busta completely rocked, I loved their performance it was brilliant. I also loved Nas's performance, he was robbed at the VMA's as was DMX. One Mic video is brilliant I love it. Justin Timberlake did a good performance as well, i really hope he goes far with a solo career.

What the hell was christina doguilera wearing, she looked so skanky. J Lo looked gorgeous and I think Avril needs to find a new outfit.
 
Guns 'n Roses: 'nuff said. 😀

They were ok. Jimmy Fallon looked all silly, the way he was made up to look like a porcelian doll, way too much makeup. Some of his lines were rather flat, other than the one that commented that this was one of the times that music was shown on MTV. HaHa.

I though that Ashanti and Ja Rule delievered a very tasteful performance, it was nice to see such a classy act.

Other than that, I didn't like them that much, seems as thought the same people were nominated time and time again...dah. Oh well.
 
I thought the opening was hilarious, with all the spoofs. I think that P!NK was my fave performance, and guns n roses were great too. (buckethead is great!) I thought Justin's performance was mediocre, he thinks he's michael jackson, its quite sad really.
 
No offence to you ladies but the VMA's kinda sucked.
Best part was The Hives. Worst was everything before and after.
I'd say more but I am really trying to be nice...

I totally agree with you. I just watched it so I could see the face off between the vines and the hives. They both kick a**. I think Jimmy Fallon(sp?) didn't do a good job hosting. I personally dont like the VMA's that much, I like the MTV movie awards better. It seems funnier.
 
I thought the vmas were pretty good. the beginning with jimmy fallon acting like all those artists was soo funny. Eminem's performance was good, but seriously does he HAVE to perform at EVERY mtv award show?
 
Kinda angry that Linkin Park didnt take anymore awards and were beat by No Doubt! Guns 'n' Roses roooooxed!

Eminem pissed the s' outta me with those things he was doing.

He wasn't beign X, just being a jack@$$.
 
I didn't think it was a good as other years. I'm not normally a Eminem fan but I really liked his performance. I really hoped The White Stripes and Kelly Clarkson would perform 🙁
 
hahaha i thought it was so funny how Michael Jackson thought his award was for artist of the millenium, and it was just for his birthday!!....a bit of a shame though, he must have been embarassed, especially with that big speech of thanks he made. hehe 😛
 
I didn't get to watch the whole thing (actually I hardly watched any of it) but the stuff I saw didn't blow me away. I did think it was kinda funny when Eminem went up to accept an award and dissed Moby and everyone was booing. I don't know why. I kinda like eminem and I'm quite anti-Moby.

But I'm stoked for Avril Lavigne. As for Jimmy Fallon I really didn't see or hear the funny!!!
 
Yeah, I didn't think he was that great of a host. His opening skit was the funniest part of his whole performance. And the Michael Jackson thing was hilarious!
