Music that would work in The Bronze

I'm a huge Lana Del Rey fan and I was thinking the other day how her music would work well in a setting such as The Bronze. I would have loved for 'Video Games' to have been released during Buffy's production and somehow incorporated into an episode.

Her older stuff whilst she was under the name 'May Jailer' may be even more suitable for such a show:

The Lemonheads, definately. I can imagine ''Confetti'' being played there. Also an alt pop singer such as Kate Miller- Heidke. Even, Weezer's ''Buddy Holly'' could be played. Sour Times by Portishead also comes to mind. Great q!

There's something about echo and growl of these songs that reminds me a lot of the season one Bronze/songs, they're kind of onto that Dashboard Prophets sound, though a bit mellower.

I agree that Lana del rey would fit great! She has that mystic 90's feeling! 😀 I think most of the music at the bronze wasn't things I would listen to. But I think great artists like Cat power and Pj Harvey would've suited the vibe 🙂

I love trip hop, The BtVS episode 'Passion' got me into Morcheeba, and then from there into Air, Thievery Corporation, etc.

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless. 1991(an Irish band so I'm a bit biased). Either way, I think this band would have fit right in to the non-mainstream vibe of the Bronze.

Massive Attack -Unfinished Sympathy. The way I see it, the Angel & Buffy relationship is pretty much summed up by this song.

Season one (and maybe season 2) definitely needed some Nirvana. Or Alice In Chains. Or Soundgarden. Dude, those seasons needed more grunge! 😀

I hadn't even read your post yet, just the thread title, and immediately thought, "Lana Del Rey!" The first time I heard her music, I immediately entered the world of Buffy. Love it.

I recently watched the independent movie Safety Not Guaranteed, which is really awesome, in my opinion.
The movie features this song. I really like it and I though it would work quite well in the Bronze.

I agree about Lana Del Rey and Lykke Li. Most of their music would have worked really well. A lot of Sky Ferreira's newer stuff would have worked well also, particularly Sad Dream and Ghost. Daughter's music sounds also very Bronze-y to me.
