There have been a lot of award shows on lately that are musically oriented. I've watched the VMA's, RMA's, and the Billboards. There are tons of famous people in the audience who are popular right now to the younger generation like Ashlee Simpson, Ryan Starr, Ryan Cabrera, Lincoln Park, Usher, Alicia Keys, etc. I've noticed that when certain icons come onto the stage to perform you see the younger famous people stand for them in respect. I've noticed that people have stood for Madonna and Chaka Khan.

So, if you were at an awards show and someone famous came out on stage. Who would you stand for?

I would stand for:

Rush, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Creed, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Evanescence.

hehe, lots of old bands.

You have impeccable taste in music, my girl!
I would stand for Madonna, just cause I used to be a big Madonna fan like five years ago, and I still sort of admire her although I almost never listen to her music.
Other than that, people who I still admire and like and listen to: Björk.. eh, can't really think of anyone else.. I might add something to this answer later..

Omg! You listen to Bjork? I love her! lol
(I can't give you reputation.)
I love her too. I have listened to her for as long as I can remember (actually listening to her right now, lol, "Venus as a boy"), her music is just wonderful, like her voice, so special and beautiful, I love her pronunciation.

Bjork is.... odd & that makes her songs somehow nice. After reading an interview I listened to her songs coz I was sure I would like, but finally, I'm not really fond of... I tried though, but not really into her songs, I would have to listen more & more often.

I would choose Mylène Farmer first of all, then Vangelis, then among those without real order U2, Evanescence, Depeche Mode, Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus, The Smiths ... prolly tons of others too... :happy53:

Björk might be one of those you have to listen to for a while before you stop consider her to be odd.. cause I don't think she's odd...

Anyway I agree about The Smiths..
