Are there any theme songs or maybe entire soundtracks or scores which you absolutely adore that are typically associated with a particular movie or TV show?

This piece of music by Howard Shore has the power of actually moving me to tears, even though I don't like The Lord of the Rings at all. I don't think of anything in particular while listening to this. It's all the sheer power of music.

The Fountain score. Clint Mansell is a master, the movie was crap.

Haven't seen the film, but Clint Mansell is great! Love his score for Moon.
Tron Legacy, Help! and Batman Forever. I am not big on Lord of the Rings, either. Lord of the Rings and the Matrix killed the fantasy genre.

Well I'm not a big Tarantino fan, but his soundtracks are always good no matter the quality of the film. And the Bond soundtracks are normally good even when the films are not up to much😉 I think Live and Let Die and The Man With the Golden Gun would be examples of that. You Only Live Twice too🙂

To be fair Flash Gordon is a very guilty pleasure of mine and I will happily site and watch it for the camp kitsch classic that it is, but it's admittedly bit rubbish. The soundtrack is belting though.

A Life Less Ordinary isn't a brilliant film either, but also has a great soundtrack. I adore this song so much:

The soundtracks of both are good, but I disagree on the films. I think their both good films, but in very different ways😉

I actually really struggled to think of movies I dislike with soundtracks I love. The only movie I've disliked enough to turn off midway through recently was Fifty Shades of Grey, and that didn't have a good soundtrack either 😛

The Great Rock 'N' Roll Swindle

It was vile. It was a swindle. It was glorious in its smug and conceited badness. Music mostly fantastic of course.

Edit: Btw, Spike plays and sings along to My Way in an episode.

Edit: @Mr Trick It is worth a watch if you are interested in the period and the people involved. McLarren is a madman.

Interesting choice I've never seen that film.

Haven't seen this film in years, but remember loving it, but maybe that was because of the music. Must watch it again soon. Remember thinking 'Silly Thing' was the best thing I'd ever heard 🙂

Paul and Steve made Silly Thing. Johnny made this. DA-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-DAAAA-da-da-da-da!

There are parts of the movie that are enjoyable, but there are too many swastikas. Miss Rosenberg likely would not approve.

My only excuse is that I was very young at the time 🙂 Just dl the film and will try and watch it over the next few days

No need to excuse yourself. If you like nazis, midgets, Ronny Biggs and BDSM, I am not judging.
Hey, look what thread has been dug up 😀

Yeah, I should also note that I don't really dislike the LotR films. I'm not a big fan, but upon rewatching, I have to say that I like the first one a lot.
Anyways, Howard Shore rocks!

I forget which one, but one of the Twilight movie had good music. Or at least the CD they released for it had good music, it might just be the soundtrack, not sure about the score since I haven't watched all the movies.

I can't say anything about the scores or songs used in these films, as I haven't watched any of them, but I know they've had some really great composers: Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings), Carter Burwell (frequent Coen Brothers collaborator) and Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel)
