I could go on (and on....and on). I listen to pretty much anything and everything. Will give anything a go.

At the moment, I'm on a Powderfinger, Silverchair and Leonard Cohen trip. Oh and a John Butler Trio trip....saw them live last month and John Butler's talent totally blew me away.

He played a version of that for about 15 minutes and I was just completely in awe (and really wanting to learn how to play the guitar).

But yeah...I'll listen to anything once. If I don't like it, then I don't like it but if I do, I do.
 
Argh. I wish people would stop telling me how brilliant John Butler Trio are. I missed out on a JBT show about two weeks ago, and have listened to a solid fortnight of my friends telling me how brilliant it was. ::huh1:: I'll catch them again though, I'll make sure of it. Not that familiar with the music, but everybody keeps telling me I'd love 'em.

Any advice where to start, definition of insane?
 
Sorry Jill....didn't mean to do any nose rubbing. The first time I heard/saw them play was at the Big Day Out this year and from my viewpoint (the wrong side of the opposite stage), everyone seemed to get really into it, so when I heard they were playing in Brisbane I jumped at the chance to actually see them and wasn't disappointed.

The main song is Zebra, which was their first major hit I think.

Peaches and Cream is one of my favourite songs, even more so after being part of an audience that just sang along to it. Also - Better Than, Daniella, Groovin' Slowly and Funky Tonight.

If you get the chance....definitely check them out.

Likely old news, but all the same:

Radiohead are to release their next album this week. After managing to make the thing in almost ninja-like silence, they've kicked up a huge fuss over the manner in which they're releasing it.

Now, while the album will be sold on all the usual formats, it's the download form which is most interesting. You can download the thing directly from their website for... whatever you want. For whatever you want to pay.

Radiohead... I just love 'em. They never fail to surprise. I mean, aside from managing to keep the album under the radar in the first place, they pull something like that too. I really hope it works brilliantly, because it's genius.

Tough act to follow, so Arcade Fire picked the worst possible time to announce a surprise "free gift" on the 6th of October from the beonlineb.com site, a big enough deal to make the news here. It had been speculated to be another collaboration with Bowie or the long awaited DVD announcement, but in the end, it was summat else nobody suggested: what's been called the first interactive music video. Now, I'm nearly certain somebody somewhere must have thought of it before, but anyway.

Basically, a very Kraftwerky Win sings the title track from Neon Bible while you mess with his face and hands. Play Win's hands right (wrong?) and you can drown him, sort of.

Besides music from broadway musicals, it's fairly broad for me.
I've been getting pretty serious about The New Pornographers AND Rilo Kiley.
But I can listen to mainstream stuff, too, but mainly just to dance to it. Justin and Beyonce are good for this. =]
 
I think my love for Evanescence is renowned far and wide. FANGIRLS REPRESENT!

My new obsession is with Black Light Burns. THEY. WIN. AT. LIFE. Seriously. I am completely in love with them. It's Wes Borland's new band [y'know, the dude with the face paint from Limp Bizkit, also know as the only one with any talent]. I am seriously in love. I haven't been able to stop listening to their CD since I got it. LOVE LOVE LOVE. GO LISTEN NOW KTHX.

Saw Arcade Fire two days in a row, and I reckon I can quite honestly say, it was the greatest thing I've ever taken part in.

So good, in fact, I'm going to try and follow them to London for an Ally Pally show in the 19th. I'll finish a work week of ten and twelve hour Christmas shifts in a toy shop, run for a plane, fly Dublin to London, meet my recently to-London-moved friend, socialise the crap out of her, go to Arcade Fire, meet other friends there, get my damn SOCKS ROCKED OFF, sleep for a few hours, jump on a plane, get home, get a taxi to work, and have no more days off for at least seven days. And it'll be so worth it.

Recently I got hooked to Moloko and Massive Attack!!! I am enjoying the sound of the album Mezzanine of Massive Attack. It is calming me down during the horrible traffic time 😀
