We all (apart from Lu) love OMWF, but are any of you into musicals in general?

Which films/shows have you seen?

I love the Disney ones, like The Sound of Music and Bedknobs and broomsticks, and the slightly more strange ones, like Rocky Horror, and the classics like Grease, to name a few.

In the theatre I've seen My Fair Lady and The Little Mermaid.

I'd love to see Wicked and The Lion King.

I am a huge musical fan, and I'm turning my daughters into musical fans as well. 😉 And yes, even my husband has a greater appreciation for them since he married me. 😉
I love all Disney movies and of course the classics like "The Sound of Music" and "My Fair Lady". However, my favorite musicals are ones that incorporate more modern music into their score, like "CaTs", "Phantom of the Opera", "Moulin Rouge", etc.
My favorite musical of all time, though, is "RENT". Growing up in a small farm town in Missouri, there was never much opportunity to go see musicals on stage. I heard about "RENT" when I was a senior in high school when Time magazine (or Newsweek?) did an article about it, and I thought "I have to see that show." The Internet was not anything back then like it is now, so I searched but never could find much on the show. Then the movie came out in 2005 and I begged my husband to go see it with me, but he refused. So then it came out on DVD and I bought it, and one night I said "You're going to watch this with me." LOL So we watched it together, and at the end he was moved just as much as I was. 😉

I love musicals 🙂 I've seen Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Chicago. Also I have done some musical theatre myself.
Unfortunately there are not any musicals (shows) in the city where I grew up, so I have to travel quite far to go to a show. 🙁 So I've seen one in London and one in Birmingham AL.

I so want to see (more) musicals. The only ones I saw were kids musicals when I was a kid, which I enjoyed. Thanks to Joss and OMWF I came to really love musicals and wish to see more. I'd love to see Phantom of the Opera. I did however buy the original Sound of Music DVD which I saw on stage a few years ago, I'm a big fan of it. And of course Dr. Horrible.

Not much for musicals, but the OM makes an exception once in a very great while. 😛

I was taken with a group of other young folks to see "Phantom Of The Opera" on Broadway in 1988, when the awesome Michael Crawford was performing the role. While I enjoyed the experience, it didn't quite make me a fan of stage shows.

Last year I became obsessed with wanting to watch the stage production of "Dracula: The Musical" (don't hate! 😛) but it had closed here in NYC and I never got the chance to see it.
I have seen the German version of that production on Youtube, however. It's very good. (Thomas Borchert as Dracula.....and Lyn Liechty as Mina Murray....both excellent performers).

I love musicals, except Mamma Mia I saw that in the theatre and found it boring! Disney ones and things like Rocky Horror I love. I would love to see Lion King in theatre one day.

Oh, my goodness, this could get long. I am so in love with musicals!! The community I grew up in is very strong in performance arts, so I have seen and been in many. Annie (On and Off Broadway)

Carousel
Thoroughly Modern Millie
Jesus Christ Superstar
Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat
Godspell
Fiddler on the Roof (twice)

I've been in/worked on...
Peter Pan
Robin Hood
Alice in Wonderland
Annie Get Your Gun
The Sound of Music

Grease (choreographer)
The Unsinkable Molly Brown (Costumer)

My favorite musicals ever...

And I'm sure there are others, but I can't remember them all!

I love Les Miserables! It is my favorite musical ever, and has most of my favorite songs ever in it.
I also like Fiddler on the Roof, Wicked, and Guys and Dolls.

Les Mis karma :)
I haven't been to many shows, my parents took me to see Sound of Music and Fiddler on The Roof when I was little and I remember that I enjoyed it, but it's not something I would want to do now.
I'm not a huge musical fan in movies either... I like Moulin Rouge, Singin' n the Rain and some of the Disney movies..
I saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch not too long ago, but I was a little disappointed, I mean it was good but the music in it sucked.

I adore musicals. I watch musical films, watch musicals live on stage, act in musicals. I wish I could live a musical.

My favorite is probably Bye Bye Birdie. I discovered it when my school choir performed "Telephone Hour" and I got a solo. My mom bought me the DVD of the 1995 tv version, and we went to see it live together when a local high school performed it. Two years later, I got the chance to act in it when a ocal ballet group decided to do a rendition! It wil always have a place in my heart.

Here's my musical list, but I know I'll forget some

I have seen live: West Side Story, Footloose, Cats, Beauty and the Beast, Bye Bye Birdie

I have seen movies of: West Side Story, Cats, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Bells are Ringing, Phantom of the Opera, Crybaby, Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Music Man, Oliver!, Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, Hairspray

I have acted in: Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Bye Bye Birdie, How The West Was Dun, Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr., Robin Hood, Santa and the Star Search, Paint the Town December

I have worked backstage for: Jack and the Beanstalk

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Annie Get Your Gun

I love these! There are another couple I like, Disney ones, but generally I'm a bit reserved when it comes to musicals. It can be good but it can be oh, so so bad.

On the West End? That's awesome!
I enjoy singing...even though my voice sounds like a trombone with a kitten stuffed inside it...so yes, I enjoy musicals 😀 my mom has been obsessed with Grease since she was 7, so I probably know every word to every song in that movie. My little sister has been in a few musicals at school so the songs from Singin in the Rain, Bye Bye Birdie, Annie, etc. have been drilled into my head. And I really want someone to see Rock of Ages (the actual Broadway musical, not the movie) with me! Maybe I'll go this summer. Oh, that would be amazing. There are so many that I want to see ahh I want to see Chicago so.bad. Yeah, I really love musicals.

Although I am not a fan of Cats. Ironically, I love actual cats. Maybe I'd like it if there were real cats in it. 😉
Now I really want to watch Aristocats.
