So it's pretty much common knowledge that I live in a cave and don't watch anything. So what are your must watch films or television shows. From any decade, odds are I'll not have seen it!

That's a good point, it's got to be mainstream and if possible put a rating with it, so people know if it's suitable for everyone.

Due South (1994) All remastered on Youtube . You likely won't find the DVDs. Family friendly .
Quirky feelgood show . It's a buddy cop adventure series on the surface but the core of it is something far more magical and delightful . Arguably the greatest Canadian TV export of all time . It has consistently made me smile this year . First couple of seasons are the best of it . I'll likely put it on again this Christmas. It has that sort of vibe

Non-family friendly covers a wide range! Banshee is hardly what I would call family-friendly! An interesting series, yet rather brutal.

Dexter (even though it got a little crappy in towards the end I'd still recommend it)

I could go on... And the only one from that list above that is 'safe' is This Is Us.

I know you started this, but I have to put it on a must watch list because I am obsessed and am near to needing a rewatch if I can get to Netflix again. But it is just going to break my heart again.

Dexter - majority, gave up on the last couple of seasons
The OA - started but it's a pay attention to me show!
24 - did watch the first 4? seasons, do own all on dvd though.
Grimm - you gave me season 1, so I've seen that!
Lie to Me - watched quite a bit, randomly though
NCIS - seen most of it, until all the good characters left!

@HowiMetdaSlayer I've actually seen a few of your films! I read the Girl with the dragon tattoo books (original trilogy) and think I've seen the American version and the first Swedish.

Stranger Things, I watched season 1, couldn't be bothered with the rest, the seasons are too far apart, so once it's finished maybe I'll go back and watch it all.

Queens Gambit is on my to watch list, however I keep expecting to hear of a new season or sequel to it as it was so popular? Have they done more than one season of it now?

Television:

• Veronica Mars - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Kristen Bell plays a teen detective who spends the entire first season trying to solve the murder of her best friend. Each episode has a self-contained case, but the overarching mystery drives the plot. An array of interesting characters surrounds Veronica: her father, former sheriff and current private investigator; her ex-boyfriend, Duncan, who is also the brother of her best friend; Logan, her best friend's boyfriend, who is the privileged son of a famous actor; Weevil, the head of a local biker gang. Equal parts comedy and drama, and so fun to watch!
• ALIAS - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • One of the best network television shows I have seen. Jennifer Garner plays a covert operative for a black ops section of the CIA, and in the pilot learns that her section is working AGAINST the government, not for it, so her goal becomes shutting it down. There's also a unique mythology aspect following a fictional 17th century inventor named Rimbaldi (modeled after Da Vinci).
• Nancy Drew (2019) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Kennedy McCann plays the titular hero in a modern iteration of the franchise. This series blends supernatural with the mystery aspect, and Kennedy plays Nancy so perfectly. She is set up with her own de facto Scooby Gang, who solve mysterious occurrences in their town. The main characters are loosely inspired by Nancy Drew characters, and the series is written and acted well above most CW shows.
• Kung Fu (2019) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • A reboot of the 1990s series that's rooted in Chinese culture. Uniquely features a predominately Asian cast, and is set in San Francisco's Chinatown. I have only seen season 1, but own the whole series on iTunes. It's a captivating take on Chinese mythology, and the only reason I haven't finished is because I try to watch it when I can focus on the show.
• Relic Hunter (1999) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • This show was a Canadian production that aired as a first-run syndicated show in America, about a history professor, Dr. Sydney Fox, who travels the world searching for rare artifacts. Sydney often uses martial arts to defeat her episodic adversaries in the hunt for the episode's artifact. It's a fun romp through history!
• Nikita (2010) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Similar to ALIAS, and inspired by the french film "La Femme Nikita," Nikita follows the titular former CIA operative as she's being hunted by her former agency known as Division. She is actively trying to take down Division for the evils that they have done to her. Each season throws the main characters in a new situational dynamic. I'm halfway through season 2 of 4, but it is so good!

I'm not sure what streaming you are able to utilize, but most of these are on the main streamers. I bought most of these for myself on iTunes just because I have had too many cases of watching a series midwaying the ability through and losto stream because they have been taken off of platforms!
