On December 2, 2008, my beloved Mustang that I didn't even have full coverage on was stolen...

And exactly one month later, on January 2, 2009...it was found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say I am completely elated right now. I'm still in shock...

All in tact? nothing missing or destroyed?

Great luck indeed... go buy a lottery ticket as well lol

That must be a one in a million chance.... consider this to be YOUR YEAR!!

When I saw this thread title, I figured your car was back! Congratulations! Hope it came back all in one piece!

Someone stole your Mustang?!?!?!? the soddin' bastards!!!!! (I have a Mustang, too, & I'd be mighty pissed if it were stolen!)

Glad it was found!!! HNY!!!!

Wow! That sure doesn´t happen very often. I guess congrats seems to fit! And I agree, go buy yourself a lottery ticket or something.

OK, so my car was stolen in Utah by this random guy a friend brought over. It was found in Vegas...and there it still sits in an impound lot. Right now the cost to get it out is upwards of $400, and it's an additional $27 each day. I have NO money and unless my dad can loan me all that very soon I'm gonna be paying over $1000 when it's all said and done. I just started a job but whenever I get the check, in 1-3 weeks, it won't be enough...so I'm just hoping to find some money. Insurance isn't gonna pay anything because I only had liability.

Fortunately though the car is in good shape and wasn't wrecked so at least that's an expense I *won't* have to worry about.

Although I'm a law student, this is not official legal advice. So don't sue me. 😉 😛

If you can find the guy who originally took it, you can bring a replevin action against him, which will make him pay you the value of the car plus incidental costs and damages. Naturally, you could also press charges against him for grand theft auto -- but be advised there is a way to squeeze him for money in addition to sending him to jail. 😉

Yeah, the problem is the guy is still on the run and they haven't caught him. But how much would it cost to get a lawyer to file that stuff against him if they *do* catch him? I mean it may not even be worth it...

Well at least you've got your car back, if your dad helps you out with the momentarily pressing costs you should be very lucky and everything 🙂

So you actually kind of know the guy, who stole your car via a friend?
