My 2 cents (theory)

Ok, here's my theory (I've posted it elsewhere, but not here). Buffy coming back from the dead has set up interference in the slayer line. Like two waves that have the same characteristics but are out of phase with each other, when they collide, interference occurs and both the waves are weakened. The question is, what is the power that Buffy's power is interfering with? The big eyeball thingy said the powers surrounding the slayer were unstable...Could the power interfering with Buffy be Dawn? As the key, she was very powerful. Could it be Willow? Anya at one point called her the most powerful Witch in the Western Hemisphere. This could be hyperbole, but maybe not. Heck, maybe the ripples caused by the presence of Faith are just hitting shore as it were. I don't know, I'm just putting my two cents worth in. In any case, I'll be watching to find out just what the heck is going on!
 
I think that this whole mess up in the slayer line happened when Buffy died in "Prophecy Girl" She died, even if for a moment, and instantly another slayer was called... hence the disruption when... walaa... Buffy is still alive.

When she died again in "The Gift", I don't think that's when the big bag decided to make his move because the line was messed up.

Since her first death, we have seen the First try and convince Angel to kill Buffy... so the First has had it in for buffy for a long time...

So, my two cents is... the First has just been building up strength and knowledge since the line was first interrupted, and now it's ready to huff and puff and blow Buffy down... but it won't succeed! (At least, that's what I HOPE 🙂
