Ooh, see now, I like the charcoal, yeah.
I'd always drawn these wispy, wimpy graphite pencil drawings up through high school. Then in college I got addicted to the high contrast charcoal and pastels. Much punchier (and easier to get a good image drawn quickly"”for the lazy and impatient, heh).
I think you've got a good eye for likenesses. Sometimes, the proportions are a little wonky, but that can be so tricky... Good stuff.
It's fun to try drawing in white on a black surface too. Makes you focus on highlights...
