My banners turn out really bad, can you please help? (Corel Photo-Paint)

I can't work Corel Photo-Paint. Would someone be able to help? I want to know how to make the background transparent, merge images together and just the basic things needed to make banners.

I'm sorry but I wouldn't have a clue with Corel as I have never used it. My suggestion is to try doing a serach for online tutorials for it - I am sure there must be some out there. 🙂
