My Car was Stolen!!

So My parents go down to Limerick, Ireland, for yesterday and today, and my little brother went out somewhere, he walked there. I was sitting at the computer watching some DVD's. And someone opens the door to my house comes in takes the Keys and then drives my Car away!!

My computer is in the living room which is joined to my Kitchen, and there is a big glass window separating the room, and I didn't see anyone. But my brother came home, and noticed the car was gone.

The car is still legally under my Dad's name but it was my car, I'm only learning to drive and haven't actually driven it yet - But still MY CAR!

What really freaks me out is that they came into my house and took it!, And this all happened over the last 2 hours!

But not to take anything away from you, but remember when, only a few weeks ago those guys walked into a house and nabbed that 6 year old girl from the bath room.......i'm sorry, but the perverted f******
Its such a sad state of affairs that people find it acceptible to take something that doesnt belong to them, and whats more, do it in such blase way as to walk into the house.

Anyway, i hope that you get everything sorted.

No not at all, and if anyone else has any stories, post them to. It just makes a crime so much more creepy when they come into your house, while your still there. A similar thing happened to one of my teachers, they were asleep upstairs and someone came in and took the keys to their cars and a load of other stuff!

omg thats horrible(both the car and the girl) how can people even bring them selves to that point? to hotwire a car then steel it is still stealing your car, but at least they don't sneak into your house and just take your keys....

i hvae very little words to describe my thoughts on the matter, i'm just shocked.!

You see, but when we take matters into our own hands ala Farmer Tony Martin(granted thats an extreme case), we are the ones charged...ok he did kill someone BUT at the same time there was the case last year where someone sucessfully sued the owner of a house because he broke the mans leg while he was rummaging through his garage at 3am.....sickens me

I'm sorry they took ur car! One thing you should do is uninsure it. There is no use paying money for a car you're not driving. And also if they get pulled over driving ur car for whatever reason the insurance won't be there and then the cop would have to investigate them. I know what it's like to not have a car, and I wanted to pull my hair out. At least you got people here to post too when you're bored. lol. I would have fought back because that's the person I am, but they could have hurt you. You never know. So you did the right thing. You did call the police, right?

Wow, I'm really sorry about your car BEG. That is awful. I'm also sorry about the little girl. I would have been so pissed if they would have stolen my car. I can't believe the person actually snuck into your house to grab the keys. That is disturbing.

Sorry bout your car, its bad when people are brave enough to just walk in and take something WITH you being there....

My grandma had her keys taken in the same way, only it was at night and we were sleeping, the only thing that was takin were her keys that night i had a bad dream and i went in the living room with her (she slept on the couch cause she worked alot didn't wanna get comfy in a bed) and i layed my blanket out i was like 7 and went to bed sometime that night we think about 6 in the morning or so some one came in to our house and grabbed her keys out of her purse that was 2 inches from my face... we think it was someone we knew though... after a week the police found the car on the side of the road so we got it back....

How people can do that kinda thing when people are home thats gutsy and scary cause what if you see them... are they gonna just say hush and leave or you know...

Sorry to hear about your car BEG. I have heard of that happening though. A couple of years ago my mum was in the living room and heard the kitchen door go, they have this alarm thing that goes off when any of the doors are opened!

Anyway she got up to see who was there and there was this man stood inside the house, looking at the keys. As soon as he saw my mum he legged it!

She was lucky, because he could have got aggressive.

My dad always tells me to lock my door as soon as I walk into the house, and I must admit I do do it with the front door, but I'm a bugger at remembering to keep the back door locked at all times! I just forget that I've unlocked it. Luckily I have a 6ft high fence so they would have trouble doing it.

Also another story I have is from a friend who was in bed one night when she heard something smash in her kitchen. She thought it was one of her cats that had knocked something over, so she got out of bed and went downstairs. She turned the living room light on and then went into the kitchen. Her back doors glass had been smashed and their was a coathanger (one of those wire ones) on the floor. She realised she had disturbed a burgalar, and phoned the police. They told her that her house had been the 3rd broken into in the area that night. The other burglaries had had there cars taken. The thieves smashed the back door and nicked the car keys. Apparently it's easier to get rid of a car with the keys. Her boyfriend moved his subaru to his mums the next day to ensure it couldn't be stolen again.

Anyway sorry for waffling, I just thought I'd let you know that it is a common crime at the moment.
