My computer will not play ANY video at all. It won't let me view YouTube or even videos from MSN.com. I ran a scan last night and all was fine and dandy, but when I checked my Ignored Problems on my McAfee it told me I hadn't run a scan in 30 days.

Something's up and I have no idea what. Anyone have any helpful advice?

Weird much? Check your java and see if t's still installed properly. Other than that all I can think of is to delete your history and try again.

...this may make me sound really stupid, but now do I check my Java?

???

I'm going to go clear my history right now, too.

Edit

NOTE: I just cleared my history. Still nothing.

Either check it through add/remove programs or check by accessing it in you programs i.e. strat>programs>java script

aha! thanks muchly. i'll go do that now.
When you try to watch a vid what kind of error message ae you getting?

It's not an error message. The video just DOESN'T show up. Where the video is s'posed to be it's just a big piece of white space.

Ok now I'm drawing a blank. Do you have adobe installed? After that all I have to offer is maybe restarting the computer.

I do have a Adobe and I've restarted my computer twice. Nada.

Thanks for trying though! Haha.

My hard drive had to be replaced recently, and I had the same problem, so I had to take it back to my tech. What had happened was, even though the new hard drive SAID that it had Adobe, it for some reason wouldn't work. It had to be uninstalled, then re-installed in order to work. You might try that, or get someone else to help you if your computer skills aren't any better than mine.

I'm guessing you mean Flash rather than Acrobat Kean 😉. It could be a Flash problem TC...I'm not sure how to check that in Windows, as I'm using OS X on the Mac these days but you could try a re-install for whichever OS you're using.

Adobe - Flash Player

Thanks Pointy...would have been handy if I'd mentioned that..lol
I had the same problem with Youtube just lately, and it turned out that when my original hard drive was irretrievably destroyed a few weeks ago and a new one was installed, somehow Adobe didn't re-install, so anything that required it, like Youtube, Leech, and several others, ANYTHING that required Adobe, wouldn't play. Anything that was Windows Media Play, like videos from individual fan sites, would load, play, and download. That might be your problem.

So would you suggest I download the Adobe updates that keep popping up on my computer?

Mine updated, too, but it still wouldn't work until it had been uninstalled, then reinstalled. Don't ask me why, I'm computer challenged.

LOMA!!!
I had a similar problem years ago, and it turns out something snuck onto my PC and messed around with my video codecs.

Does your McAFee have spyware detection? If so, I'd run that. If not, download Spybot and run it. We gotta make sure your system is clear of that stuff.
