Everything looks a little crooked and not put together right now, and that's because I just quickly staged it. All those pieces come apart, as I have yet to put it together. And no, the triangles won't look like that. I have yet to attach them and the four others properly! 🙂

The blade, the blade's handle, the stake, and the triangles are all made out of wood. The piece of thing that the leather is wrapped around is also wood, but who actually cares lol. And then there's the piece of aluminum that is the metal part, and viola! Cheapo Slayer Scythe. 😛

Tell me what ya think!

OMG!!! You did it!!! TC you rock!!
That is soooooo awesome! You wouldn't believe how awesome it is, unless I told you... which I'm doing now: it's awesome!

For all those other Buffy fans out there who're thinking about trying their hands at this: how long did it take you to make this? what kind of tools did you use? how much did the materials cost? do you have schematics for it?

To be honest, I really don't wanna release that info. I was thinking about making some more (maybe on commission) and selling or trading them. But way super cheaper than the Factory X one. (We're talking by at least a hundred and a half dollars. 🙂 )

Thank you guys so much for the feedback, btw. It makes it all worth it to get told you did a good job! :lmao:

That's a very good thought. It's the capitalist and the American way, haha. I bet you'd get a lot of business for that too.

Lol, I totally understand... but I gotta warn you... you'd be violating FOX' copyright, since you're not licenced to make (and sell!) merchandise.
As United Hobos Forever you know you TOTALLY have to give me one right? I mean I was there in the beginning...it's only right!

hah! xD
lol that looks so wicked awesome but Allycat has a point in his rep he gave you.... You could get into trouble seeing as you have no permission from fox or anyone that dealt with Buffy to make and sell these replica's if someone found out its like plagiarism So you might not wanna go that route....

It looks great though TC

thanks SO much, AB!!! :)
You could probably get around any patent/copyright infringement by selling it in two sections (say the blade section and the handle section) separately and calling it something like the "monster killer axe." Back in the days when Rambo was hot, there were literally dozens of knockoff Rambo knives for sale under different names. The name "Rambo" was what belonged to the studio, not the knife design. The same might be true with your scythe. Just don't sell it with the name "Buffy" or "Scythe" on it, plus take the added precaution of selling it in 2 piece kit form, and you should be covered.

I agree. Might even get away with calling it a scythe as long as you don't call it a slayer scythe. Not that, you know, it's really a scythe anyway. Call it an axe and you'd be, well, right. lol.
Problem is that if FOX only half thinks they have a case, they could sue him... he doesn't have the resources to defend himself properly, compared to their enormous legal department.

That's true, but if he only sells on a small basis, such as only members of the Board here and people he personally knows, Fox will probably never know the difference. Where the problem comes in is with advertisment and marketing.
