hey all

i got had a great time at the screening last night, totally fantastic, then i got lost and mist my train and had to pay £9 for a taxi to go 5 miles to my mates house at midnight just in time to be confronted by a scary drunk guy. always fun

anyhoo here it is the mucho's hyped Flour

I thought it was hilarious, Hollywood is missin' out on something.

The Good:

- The witty dialogues.
- That crazy computer guy, with the glasses, what an actor 😉 seriously, he played the most prominent role.
- The plot, really nicely done.
It looked like story was irrelevant, but the major twist at the end was brilliant, and because of the first mentioned, all the more surprising.
- Alyson Hannigan's Season 6 Promotional Photo at the top of the front page of the newspaper 😉

The Bad
- The low sound quality combined with the ridiculous (nothing personal) dialect made me have to pump up the volume to max, to understand what was being said.
- The really weird walk through the park.
- Set decorating. Lol, the inside of your room should've been a little more profilic, it didn't really tell us anything about your person.
- Should've been much much longer, but that speaks for itself.

The sound is due to the compression to get it online. might see if i can get a hi res version if theirs calls for it.

well over than he had the entire collection of buffy 😉 that was my teachers house so we couldnt change all that much because we didnt have much time to set up. plus we'd already had a big mirror from the wall to be moved, we didnt want to be kicked out 😉

it was given a 5 min limit which i went over, if i'd have more time to write the script (so it made more sence!!) i could probabley have stretched it out to 15 pages.
 
I mean a 3hrs running time, if LotR is allowed to do that, then you should be too!
 
Glad to hear you enjoyed your big night (if not the journey back). I'll definitely download your film when I get home. Allycat seems to like it, so that's a good start🙂
 
I love it. I wish I had a way to post my movies(2-3 min. commercial parodies) but yours was so much better than mine any way. i miss my film production class. ::crying::

Can we expect a sequel somewhere down the line? That main character dude deserves some further adventures.....

And If ya ever need an extra villain....give me a holler. I couldn't act my way out of a wet paper bag....but I'm very good at looking mean.... 😛 😛 😛

Cheers old master, but im not doing a sequal mainly as the high number of hollywood sequels piss me off no end, if i was to use the same universe again i'd rather go the Kevin Smith route and make refrences to Flour. but if your ever in south west england i'll see what i can do 😉
 
Good effort - is it your first complete short or the first one to be released? Nice story which could easily be expanded to a longer film (Philip K Dick influences?). I thought that there were some very good shots that you'd obviously taken a lot of time and thought over which showed - even though it was an amateur film (I don't mean that disparagingly btw - I couldn't even come close to being as good🙂)

What kind of equipment did you get to use - film or video (and which do you prefer?)? My guess would be video but it's difficult to say without seeing the full size version.

i shoot all my stuff on Digital video, which is reasonably cheap (£3 to £5 for an hour tape) plus you've got the added bonus of people able to record over it. the quality isnt as good as film but you can get some great filters to improve colour in post. plus DV still looks pretty good in the cinema (see 28 days later) Film is the better of the two but DV lets you do it on a budget. we used a shot gun mic for sound which is round about CD quality on the full version. you can see it in the last shot ::evil2::

i heard about the Phillip K Dick book just after i'd finished the script which was a bit of a pain but dosent really matter.

Hey, if it's good enough for Schwarzenegger's people to adapt into Total Recall...nothing wrong with being influenced by the good writers - if you start basing movies on the works of L Ron Hubbard though...
 
LMFAO! Well, although the accent was a little hard to adjust to at first, and as you know I AM a sucker for those English accents 😛 , I thought it was hillarious and an insanely beautiful concept! I have to say my favorite part was when you snaped your own neck...OMG...I was on the floor...yeah it was a bit cheesy...but I love that. Well done! I envy you your drive. 😉
