So who is "her"??... and what will she wield?
i was thinking in class, shouldn't have been thinking there but whatever... the point is... the accept no subsitutes slayer should be faith, why? because when buffy died, she stopped being THE slayer, and kendra became like the official slayer, her being alive was a "mistake"... faith is the real descendant from that line, but then i thought... Buffy's death in S1 was prophesised, and because of that, her CPR resurrection was too... it's not so much a mistake....

what i've been thinking is that maybe what she is supposed to be wielding is the slayer power itself... i thought of this awhile ago, when Buffy died in s5, she wasn't the slayer, because a new slayer wasn't called, and the bejroasdaf eye implied that the resurrection was the cause...

my theory is that Buffy was the real slayer, she died and kendra was called as the real one, she died and faith was called... that's the slayer line... buffy died again, no one was called, buffy got resurrected and got reinstated in the slayer line, making them both (faith and buffy) real slayers... maybe the fact that the power is divided is what lets the first wipe out the slayer line... "the oportunity just presented itself" said the eye, could this be the opportunity? when the "it's not for thee" means either it's not for buffy or it's not for faith.. one of them shouldn't have that power... that's my crazy theory

also i wanna see what did "last guardian of the hellmouth" mean...

allot better than some of the other theories...i hope the writers put as much/or more thought into it...

That's what I've been thinking for the past few days. I think that when Buffy died the first time, her fate also let her be resurrected by CPR, so she was given her powers back. She then began to get stronger and a better fighter, but then Faith came along, who was also very stong as well, but not as a great of a tactiful fighter.. just more of a passionate fighter.

Their power has to be either split, or Buffy may have more of it, and Faith a little less... but then I think that none really fight better than the other... so, who knows?

But I think the isncription on the wall does have to deal with Buffy. Because if Caleb had read it and become very angry about what it said, and is actively seeking out Buffy to try and destory her... he probably doesn't want her to 'weild' whatever she is entitled to have that he is not.
Does that make any sense to anybody?

So Lorne, maybe Buffy and Faith have to find a way to combine their Slayer power to defeat the First/Caleb?

But did the Eye really imply that Buffy's resurrection caused the disturbance that the First was taking advantage of? All I remember was:

Q: "Who caused this disturbance?"
A: "THE SLAYER."

No name, date, scenario. And there have been *lots* of Slayers, in addition to the confusion over whether Buffy or Faith is the "real" current Slayer.

As for Buffy being the last guardian of the hellmouth... I'm thinking something BIG is going to happen that will destroy or fill in the Hellmouth (and probably a lot of Sunnydale with it), so it won't need a guardian any more.

We didn't actually see all of that conversation so I kinda think we have to believe that Giles and Anya interpreted it correctly. They said that the Eye had told them that it was because Buffy 'keeps on living' that the slayer line is in danger.

Ok, looks like the original message was really just a crazy theory.

It seems like the 'she' is Buffy and the thing to be weilded is that axey-sythey thing.

Not if Faith gets blown to smithereens at the beginning of next week's episode.. 😱

I believe he was talking about "Faith" too....at first, but he pointed out that Faith and Willow was driving in the car behind them, and made sure she knew he wasn't talking about that one. But if you remember, in Selfless, we where shown Two Buffys 😕 we only assume that one was the first evil. if you think about it, the bufy in white was being nice to Spike, while the one in black, was being firmtowards him. so, a lot of people thought the one in white was the real buffy. but it was the one in black that tried to kill Anya.

So suppose there are really two Buffy. both real. one is human buffy and the otner is slayer buffy, split in half because of Willow's spell? the first evil, made a reference to spike bringing the wrong slayer, in "sleeper". just a thought. it the end of the season and we still are not getting any answers.🙁

that's crazy... but I guess in some sense, (like, thinking in general about the buffyverse) not impossible

There is only one "real" Buffy, but remember in "Touched" how the First as the Mayor says he is still part of the real Mayor? So when the First is Buffy, it is part of her too, I bet. If that made any sense, that is. 🙂

I have just remembered something that happened long ago, remember when Buffy had this weird encounter with the slayer and she told her that she had the gift of death? Buffy died but she came back so I assume that she still has the same gift , so if Im right, maybe she will have to use this gift in this great big finale.
