My ship's been sunk

Total sidenote: There is a difference between Girl Guides and Girl Scouts? Please explain.
Every countries a bit different. In Canada Scouts are co-ed but mostly male. They went c0-ed a long time ago to increase membership but girls can only join a group where there are female leaders. I'm not sure of all the exact rules. Guides stayed Girls only. Although we do allow transgendered people to join guides as long as the gender they identify with is female. But other than that they both go camping, they both earn badges, they both do community service projects etc. And of course they both have thinking day!

Professor Walsh: I see. Here we have two scouting organisation, one which have kept more of the Christian backbone and one that has toned that down very much. Both offer co-ed groups, but there are also girl groups around in some areas.

Oh yeah, our Christian values are wayed toned down now too. It wasn't ever super heavy but definitely a bit more Christian when I was a kid.
