My Spike Theory

I believe that the reason why Spike has, well, basically a conscious, is because of the Order of Aurelius (sp?). Now, to expand on that, I believe tha slowly as time went by Vampires basically... evolved. EXAMPLE: Along the line vampires just kept getting... better! Like first it was Darla, then Angel, then Drusilla, then... Spike. Imo, Spike is like a mutation in the vampire race. (Plus, Dru probably passed some weird thing to Spike...)

I dont think the vamps got 'better' but i do think that the fanged four had the OOA to thank for being so powerful. I imagine if a new/weak vampire sired someone, then whoever they sired isnt gonna be anything special as far as vampires go, but i think being sired by the master or anyone of the fanged four(or any old or legendary vamp) would definetly give you maybe extra skill or toughness. Also, altough Dru was already insane before she was sired, i imagine her mind control powers could have came through the family tree from the Master.

I kind of agree with this BUT I believe that the power dilutes.

I mean all Vampires must come from 'Old Ones' that mixed with humans(or however) so any that were born from them would be stronger than the ones they sired BUT obviously not as strong as the Old One.
