my trip to the US started on jan 7th. we left oslo, and landed in newark, nj. tok the bus to NEW york and was there for a bout 20min before we jumped on the first bus til Washington DC. in washington we ariwed at the Greyhound st. and walked to the Union st. wher we met this woman named Chris, she is married to my boyfriends mothers cusin. Chris and Billy, are really nice, and they tok really good care of us. they even bought us a plane ticket from dulles air port (outside of washington dc) to fort lauderdale, and that saved us a whole day on the bus.
washington is great! and smithsonian institute, they have alot of free museems and so on in washington, and that made it even more fun to walk around looking at stuff like that. we saw the capiton(we tok the Virginia express from virginia to washington one day and the ticket masin was broken, so the train conducter helped us buy 2 tickets from another station, and he sked if we had ever been to DC before, and then he said he had gotten som tickets from a senator to see the state senat in session at the Capitol, but the senate wasn't in session that day, so we only got to see the house, but it was alot of fun, the building is very beautiful inside, it's got sculptures of people, and paintings in the cieling.)
we saw the white house and we saw a ton of scuirls, by the white house i counted 22 scuirls, and that was only the ones i could count.
we were at the top of the monument, which was cool! and we got really lucky cause we were a part of the last groupe up!
i think washington is such a great city! lovly to walk around in and to look around in!!
we also got to see Mannassas battlefield park, which is a battle field from the civil war. it was really cool to see places like that. there was this old house that this woman had died in the firlst day of the battle up there. and alittle further away there was a stone house that used to be a tavern before the war, but was turned into a fieldhospital during the war.
we saw 5 hawks, a fox and a deer on our hike there, and we got lost twice. (which was a bit tire some for the kids, to walk that much, they are 4 and 6 years old.. so you can imagine.)
i got to see pentagon city fashion ceter. it was cool to be in an american mall, it looked alot like a norwigan one, but MUCH BIGGER!!
IN FLORIDA
florida is great! love the palm trees. 🙂 LOL
we stayed at cusjoe key at my boyfriend grand aunts house. and the first night there we went to eat at coco's where the food portions are HUGE! i orderd a meal, with smal steak and rise, and i got a dinner for two LOL
we went to Key west day nr 2 at the keys and key west was alot of fun, we tok a coch train ride. where you drive around in this train, and they tell you the historie og Key West as you go.
and we eat at Kelly's bar and something.. and the owner there is this actress called kelly mcgillis..
in KW there are alot of chickens and hens walking around.
on our 3rd day in the keys, we went to Bahia honda, which is this great beach. man it was beautiful!
i didn't swim in the ocean when i was there, but i did swim in a heated pool! my boyfriend swam in the ocean though 😉
the trip from key west to new york, was interesting! and lasted for 36hr. 1 1/2 days, we got to see alot of beautiful placesl, and some small towns on our way.. and alittle bit of crazy people LOL(in washington we were at the National post museem , and we where walking out opf this room, as this man walked in, and he went to this corner, and he talked to himself and said that E-bay was the best thing in the world, prais e-bay, it's gonna save the world and so on...)
we came to NYC at 6am on the morning of 18th of jan. and the first thing i did when we came to Port authority, was to go to the bathrom, to chance my socs, i started to chance my socs, and as i bent down i saw some one standing in the both nexted to me, and the berson was fideling with something in his hands(it looked lika a pair of big man shoes) so i got really secared so i ran out of there as fast as i could. and when i got to where my b-f was, which was right out side... no one came out of the toilet...
we didn't get to see to much of nyc, cause we hyad nowhere to dispose of our bags, so we saw time square and then we went to the airport... (we had 2 big bags and 2 backpacks.)
the trip was great! and i can hardly wait to go back! The US was much better than expected! 🙂
