Is it just me, or is MySpace fading?
It was fun for a few years, now I'm spending so much time on here and Facebook that I really have no use for it. I have a few people that I talk to on there, but the rest I can talk to in real life or on Facebook. Everyone is converting. A lot of my friends don't ever even go on there anymore. Remember when everyone and their mom used to be on MySpace? Now it's Facebook. I wonder how long the Facebook frenzy is going to last.
Also, we have Twitter. That is the most pointless site in the world. I have to admit, I have one, but it's a pretty dumb site.
MySpace is losing its umph for me, I'm bored with it. I wonder what they're gonna come up with next.
What about you?

I deleted my myspace about a year ago after being converted entirely to facebook. When I was a sophomore in highschool, I thought that day would never come!

Internet networking sites always seem to go through such a paradigm shift. Remember xanga? LJ? And then personal journals became obsolete and profile-based sites were popular -- myspace, then facebook -- and now twitter is gaining some serious popularity. How have we come from online journals to just short, snippy status updates?

I deleted my myspace a year or so back, i was into for a few months but facebook will last so much better. Its not really gimmicky and its actually much better to use. No one i know uses myspace anymore.

Ha! What a great topic. So funny because I was just thinking about this the other day. I was a Myspace addict. And now it is all about Facebook. Why the shift? I liked Myspace because you could be creative. Facbook is more about talking to each other, I guess. I wish I could pick music for my page though...screw Twitter. It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard off. No one cares that I'm eating a bowel of cereal at 7am!

All things come to an end and so will Facebook and Twitter too. The question is just how long it'll take. As for Twitter it all depends on how you use it. My tweets are 98% pointless but it has it's good things too. But as I said in a Twitter thread. In general Facebook is about friends and Twitter is about celebrities. I use it mostly to read not to write myself.

Ha oh yeah i use to be addicted to myspace years ago 😛
but i hardly ever log in these days, it's just this, bebo, and twitter, i did make a facebook once, but can't remember my password, everyone's says it's addictive 😛

Myspace has been old for 2 years or so, at least thats when me and my friends stopped using it and went for facebook. I never go on it, I cba to even delete my profile. There's nothing there that interests me anymore.

One thing I still log into MySpace for...bands.

A lot of the adds you get are crappy, but the odd band are amazing. Like this band Estrum, a pretty low key Texas band, added me and I would never have found out about their music otherwise and I listen to them quite a lot. I believe they're in my Last.fm Top 10 of total plays which is pretty good 😛

MySpace was awesome back in the day. Bulletin conversations were king. Me and one of my best friends Pam used to talk through comments, bulletins and on MSN at the same time. Was good times.

Facebook is just a lot more fun and a lot easier to use for everyone in my eyes. I can't even pinpoint why I think it's easier it just is in my eyes. My Mom uses Facebook a lot and we were talking the other day about addictiveness of not just computers/internet but drugs and other things (my mom's cool like that, we talk about anything and everything) and she said she now understands how easy it is for people to become addicted to the internet since she's started using it more frequently and how easy it is to use sites and lose track of time.

I haven't logged on to MySpace in months, and even back in the days it wasn't really my thing. Well, Facebook came along and just claimed the most people for itself. As to how long that will last...well, they do try to keep you hooked with all their games, quizzes and whatnot. Plus, these days everyone is on Facebook, you can even hat there, so it's even pretty much replacing msn and all that stuff by now. If they keep going like just, integrading more and more stuff and sucking the people in, I bet they an make it last a few more years.

I have accounts on both MySpace and Facebook, and have never bothered doing anything with either of them.

Forums like this one are really the level of "social networking" I prefer.

Yeah I also deleted my Myspace a couple years ago and work exclusively with Facebook now. MySpace pages started becoming insanely self-indulgent to the point that it was making me feel a little weird. Everyones page was like their own personal shrine to themselves, a whirling mass of 'Top Friends', music, huge flash pictures, whirling things and things that make noise. It had devolved into shameless self promotion crossed with a really big noisy carnival.

Facebook seems to say 'hey here I am check out my page' whereas MySpace was quickly becoming 'LOOK AT ME RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!'

I still log in to my MySpace to check out bands like Moz does. And I have a few friends that still use it. But I like Facebook more because it has more activity. But my MySpace is more beautiful with the color and everything. And yeah, Twitter is useless for me, but I have one to catch up with actors' news. 🙂

I actually JUST deleted my MySpace a couple days ago. Everyone I had on MySpace is also my friend on Facebook, and I actually have other people on there, too, who weren't on MySpace. I hadn't logged in for so long, so i finally just deleted it.

Myspace is owned by Newscorp (FOX). I think that this contributes greatly to it's unpopularity. I haven't been on mine in months or years because facebook is so much better and because Newscorp is sexist, racist, and anti-homosexual. But mostly because facebook is so much better.

I deleted my myspace quite a while ago. I'm much more a facebook girl, and besides; the only reason myspace was used where I'm from was for cyberbullying, I couldn't have an account on it without getting some of the really mean popular girls at school adding me. Not fun.

aww i loved the Bulletin banter on myspace :')
and yeah everyone kinda lost interest like 2 years ago.

I need to make a new facebook account, so i can see what everyone is going on about 😛

One of my favorite things about MySpace is the bulletin feature.
I love how if you don't like something someone posts, you can delete them right then and there.
"I don't agree with you! DELETE!!!!"

HAHA so true! But honestly, that feature was handy because I've done that. Sort of petty, but hey!
