Mystical object in Soul purpose

[Angel's vision]

If people remember one of the tasks Eve gave Wes, in soul purpose, was to distract him form realising Angel was sick, was to get him to find out what this weird object was, as it had the Senior Partners in a panic of sorts, he never really found out about it, so i was wondering for ages what it is. I know all the theories are our own speculation, but what are everyone elses views on what it might be?
I like to think it might have the power to drain the partner's powers.Or give Angel the power he needs, to defeat them.

It probably wasnt anything. That would certainly keep Wes busy. Trying to find a use for it when there is none 🙂

Did I read somewhere that it was meant to have been a chunk of Illyria's sarcophagus? Can't remember if it was officially stated or just a fan theory though.

That would probaby make sense, given they were never enamered with her presense anyway.
