You're right, randomly banning people who've done nothing particularly wrong -- in order to make a point -- isn't punishment. It's persecution. There's a name for when you grab people in the dead of night and rough them up to get the rest of the town to fall in line: Pogrom.
I realize your intent isn't bad here, Buffy... you just want the boards to run smoother. However, you definitely picked the worst possible way to try and do that. Singling people out who haven't done anything particularly wrong feels a lot more like a reign of terror than a just and efficient administration. You've alienated a lot more people than you've helped. Again, I realize your intentions were the best -- but I think you owe the board an apology.
