N4H's Fanfic to Art Challenge. :D

OK, it's a little late for inspiration here, but EDB I want to show you something I just noticed, because I think it's so cool, and perhaps you can use the technique on something you do in the future.

You know how in the first banner you did the girl is looking up at the bird, and in the final one I chose she's looking straightforward? What if you did this?

You lay the second one on top, and the first one below, then resize them so both can lay one on top of the other in a single banner. You put a border between both. So now you have the girl looking straight forward in the top and up in the one below, but the backgrounds on the left are duplicates. You don't want that, so you cut the left hand part in half. You put the top half in the top section, and the bottom in the bottom. I imagine you'd have to tweak a bit, like create a different size and dimension for the final banner, but would that work?

I'm going to post them one on top the other, so you can see what I mean.

I've been thinking about something else. This has been a fun thread for me. I'd like to share the fun, and open it up so anyone can play. So there's no need to feel restricted by just posting based on my stuff. Let's make it a for real anything and anyone goes kind of challenge. It would even be a big kick to see something like the banner-makers who also write fanfic interpret their stuff.

I think the bottom one gives me the spooks best GB. Something about the eyes. You just know he's sitting there watching dinner walking up a lonely path. His tongue's going to come out soon, and lick his chops I muse.

Love the doggy tag too.

I'm not sure, but I think GB suggested there might be more banners to come on this one. That might just be wishful thinking on my part though. I'm vain enough to want to see as much art on my stories as I can convince artists to show me.

Oh, and Goldenboy, in case you're around, I promised you a small niggle... You know how it says A N4H fanfic? Well, could it say A N4H fanfic novel? I think people should be warned what they'll be getting themselves into if they dare to click. 🙂

Bet you thought I thought I was going to rag on the "A" not "An" thing? Nope. I like that intentional thumb to nose waggle at english grammar teachers.

Oh, and just because I think people might like to see this, apparently while Goldenboy was doing the banner, he got the urge to do a poster on a similar theme, and here it is. Honest, I didn't shrink it. My stupid image hoster did.

Oh and EDB, just in case you're still around, I should tell you I used two of your banners in a manner not previously endorsed. I put them in the story. I just wanted to see what they'd look like. I thought it really worked, so I left them. I'll take them down if you don't like it though. They're Here if you wanna check them out. I think the one at the bottom of the story especially looks, as Cartman might say - sweet.
