Name that turtle

OK - I'm not sure if this will work but killerdwarf thought it was a good idea so that's good enough for me🙂

While we were on our Big Fat Greek Holiday Mrs P and I went on a turtle spotting excursion (Zakynthos is a noted breeding ground for Loggerhead turtles) and after the interesting talk by the Greek turtle charity volunteers I decided I would support their work by sponsoring a turtle. (I already did the jokes about giving it £1 per mile it runs and turtles only doing the fun run, not the full marathon 🙂) All I know so far, until I receive the turtle info pack, is that mine is likely to be an adult female.

So, in the event that I get to name my lady turtle, what should I call her? There is no prize for this except for that lovely smug feeling you get if you win something. There is no guarantee that I will be able to name my turtle (she may already have a name for instance) and use the winning name but let's have fun anyway...
 
Keep them coming folks. My original idea was Mrs Pointy as it was likely to be an adult female.

One of the gutsiest female rowers ever is a Canadian lady named Silken Laumann, so I'll go with "Silken". Just before the '96 Olympics, she was at the world championships, and a German duo ran their shell into hers, and she broke her leg very badly and lost a good chunk of her calf muscle. Rowing needs a good pair of "pins", so it looked bad for her, but she toughed it out and raced in Atlanta anyway, only a couple of weeks after the injury. She didn't win the gold, but she got the bronze (I think) and my admiration for a job well done under almost impossible circumstances!

Or, you could call her "Marnie" after Marnie McBean, who has won multiple gold medals in rowing for Canada...but you might have a British rower you like, so...
 
How about Rayne?,...don't get me wrong,Rayne doesn't remind of a turtle😛,but I just like the name and it sounds...cool😀::dance::
 
Myrtle, cause then she would be Myrtle the turtle, although the first thing that jumped into my head was Soup.
 
The Mrs pointy was such a great idea !!! Or staky to refers to the stake, lol.

Speedy. i had a stuffed toy turtle from Mcdonalds. i named it speedy. i loved that thing.

hm...well...i suck at names but i think i'd do better with knowing if its a right green turtle or one of those pretty black ones...you could always name it after your fave Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
or a writer, or someone in a book, or movie...or actor/actress...or...band...song...or...
make up a word. or...randomly pick a word out of the dictionary untill you find one you like, or a name book or...

well i just hadda say speedy. and i had this in joke in my dream once (where i was dreaming and i had an in joke with someone. like i said, i dun make sense) and there was a senorita gonzalez. like speedy the mouse so....eh. if i didn't help i hope i didn't make it harder. 😀
 
my cusin fredrik has a turtle named Sara.... she had the name when he got her. a guy i know have a snake named shakira.

mr. pointy: who is you fave person/persons.. maybe one of them have a name that you would love to give to the turtle? 🙂

i liked AshSans Pointy Turtle!

or maybe name her(the tutle that is) after your fave buffy or TV character...

or how about SuperTurtle(like a joke on uper man and how turtals are slow, and superman is fast... LOL)

i've always considered "Lady Faldor" a nice name for adult female turtles 😉

I don't think she means that snake... ::nono1::

Name the tutle some weird name that no one can pronounce! Like Jafkre Sheakek (hehe, that's like a compact version of a "alien" phrase).
