Name your kids after BtVS characters?

Yes, I named my daughter Harmony Jane Persephone Cordelia Buffy Willow Rosenberg III.

Just kidding, I don't have a daughter. The only Buffy name that I'd consider for my child...would be Liam. Not necessarily because it's Buffy related, but just because I like the name haha. At my sister's gymnastics class, one of her friends was named Cordelia and her mom was a Buffy fan. But when I asked her about it, she told me her daughter was actually named after the Cordelia in King Lear 🙁.

Womp. Actually, that's slightly cooler, heh heh 😉.

I wouldn't do it, I wouldn't name my kids after anything "fannish", because to me, my kids will be so much more important.

Plus...Buffy? I'd perhaps name my dog that, but it's a cruel name for a kid to bear.

My children are VERY important to me, they come before anything else. I don't think it's wrong to name your child after a character who displays strength, resourcefulness, heart, and other qualities, its sort of like a wish that they will have some of them as well.

I don't doubt you children are hugely important to you, ergh that makes my comment sound a bit douchey now, sorry about that.

I guess if I amend it to mean people who name babies based purely upon a fan character. I don't agree with that.

I also think it depends on how important the character is to you, as well. Perhaps if I came across one who I totally adored, I might consider it, but it hasn't happened yet.

Hmmm. Nope! I don't really like any of the names in the show to be honest 😛
Faith and Dawn are alright, but I'd still never name my kid either of those.
 
If you must give your kid a Buffyverse name, the kindest thing to do would be to name them after an Angel character: Angel, Cordelia, Wesley, Charles, Winifred, Lorne, Lindsey, and Lilah are all nice, normal names.

BTVS names are just weird and it would just be cruel to name a kid Buffy Rupert, Oz, or other such names. Granted, Alexander is a normal name as is Tara, Dawn, and Faith... but BTVS has a lot less normal names and Angel.

The person who names their kid Clem will have earned the title Biggest Fan.

I've always heard Will and Jada Smith named their daughter Willow after our Willow (the whole family are huge BtVS fans).

I've named my rabbit Anya.

I'll probably name my kids after people I know in real life though.

I like the names in the show for example Dawn and (Ale)Xander. Willow is nice too! But I don't think I would name my children after them. On the one hand the names sounds crazzy in Germany on the other hand if I would live in an english speaking country... 😀
 
No one picked Buffy? Well I'm gonna pick Buffy, it's a perfectly good name as far as names go...

... yeah no, I can't keep face with this post. Buffy is the last thing I'd name a kid... from the show the only name I really liked independent of the show and it's characters is Riley. I think that's a very good name for either a boy or a girl.
 
I like the name Willow a lot. I dunno if I would name a daughter after it,, though. Jennifer is too cliche but I like it.

I can't think of any opther BtVs that I can think of, but there are some in Ats that I like (Kate)
 
I know it's old fashioned, but I really like Joyce. I would definitely consider it for a middle name.
 
Me, kids? Not ever gonna happen.

Funny thing is, if there were to be a son of mine, I'd very much like to go for a Buffyverse-ish name: Willy. Not for the snitchy barkeep or any other Williams, but for my granddad... loved that man to bits and still feel pangs of missing him at times, even though it's nearly 30 years now that he passed away. 🙁
 
I love the names Charisma, Faith, Harmony, Dawn, Michelle, Alexander, Liam, Connor, Anya.

Yeah i've considered names from the show.....Actually my sons middle name nearly became Liam but his father just had to make him a 3rd so lol.

Alyson Michelle
thats just three of them i have the list somewhere LOL but ya, just because the inspiration of the name came from a show doesn't mean the name isn't beautiful alone.
 
Never having kids but I like the names (Ale)Xander, Willow, Rupert, William, Liam, Wesley, Connor and Lilah.

I don't think it's a bad idea to name a kid after a character you like, as long as said name isn't ridiculous.
