Nancy Drew (2019)

I checked back to see if there were any other threads and the last one made it to the cemetery. I know originally many members did not take to this show. Originally it felt very Riverdale, and not very Drew. I, however, have been completely hooked since about episode 4, when I realized there was a larger mystery afoot, and every episode continually got stronger.

Now 5 episodes into her sophomore season, Nancy has really begun to establish herself as a fierce, 21st century woman, and her merry band of misfits, affectionately called the “Drew Crew,”bring me back to Buffy‘s “Scooby Gang” vibes. Also, the first season begins the idea of the supernatural in Horseshoe Bay and these past 5 episodes have solidified the existence of the supernatural, so the mythology of the show continues to improve and get stronger.

Pilot was rather interesting, but it was on the CW. So I didn't have faith that it wouldn't become too teen soapy/Twilight-ish for moi. 😳

Amazingly it actually isn’t. Highly recommend.

Yesss Medta!! Watch it!!! It is actually real quality. The writing and acting are very reminiscent to Buffy and Veronica Mars for me!

It’s the best mystery show I’ve seen in years. @HowiMetdaSlayer The best descriptor would be Twin Peaks meets millennials.

You will have 0 idea where it ends up and things are sooooooooo insanely complex and well executed. I’m not kidding when I say this is what Riverdale should have been. Like there are details in Episode 14 that tie back to small moments from Episode 1 and the show heavily rewards paying attention and picking up on small details. Several times I had a theory confirmed based on evidence I picked up on or debunked by something I skipped over. You will be hard-pressed to stop watching, since every episode ends on a cliffhanger of some sort. Some are so strong that I can’t even imagine what it must’ve been like watching this week to week.

Heartbroken that it is only going to 4 seasons, but I will 100% be there every night a S4 episode drops. This show is the best thing the CW has ever put out, honestly
