I was really excited and then completely disappointed when read that they were making her an adult.

But I guess if they made her really Nancy Drew then maybe they were afraid it would be compared to Veronica Mars... but now it's just yet another nondescript police procedural. Oh well. Would have loved to have Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys going back-to-back!

CBS has found its 21st century Nancy Drew: Sarah Shahi has landed the lead role in the procedural drama pilot.
The Person of Interest actress will play a grown-up version of the teen sleuth in the network’s contemporary take on the iconic character from the book series.
The pitch: “Now in her 30s, Nancy is a detective for the NYPD where she investigates and solves crimes using her uncanny observational skills, all while navigating the complexities of life in a modern world.”
Shahi joins previously cast costars Vanessa Ferlito (“an NYPD homicide detective and Nancy’s former partner on the force who has an innate ability to put other people at ease”), Anthony Edwards (“Nancy’s father who graduated at the top of his class at Yale Law”) and Felix Solis (an “NYPD lieutenant who finds Nancy’s confidence and willingness to stand up and disagree with him unnerving”).
CBS previously made headlines by announcing that executives planned to cast a diverse actor to play Nancy Drew (Shahi is Iranian and Spanish). She’s also had roles in Showtime’s The L Word, USA’s Fairly Legal and NBC’s Chicago Fire.
But before she’ll solve any crimes as Drew, Shahi is set to return to Person of Interest for the upcoming fifth season. CBS has ordered 13 episodes, but notably hasn’t yet put the modestly rated drama back on its schedule. The series is considered very much on the bubble for renewal.
