Nathan Fillion Guardians of the Galaxy role

Back when Guardians of the Galaxy was initially casting, there were lots of rumors that Castle's Nathan Fillion might be in the running for the role of Star-Lord. After all, Fillion had worked with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn previously on the film Super, and the two are known to be good friends.

Of course, Chris Pratt ultimately landed the role of Star-Lord, so the Nathan Fillion rumors faded away. However, just because Fillion wasn't cast as Star-Lord, doesn't mean that he might not have landed some other role.

At the Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con this past weekend, a fan asked Nathan Fillion if he had been wanting to get a part in Guardians of the Galaxy.

"Wanting to get a part? Or maybe did," responded Fillion.

Then, Fillion added, "I'm just saying maybe"¦.maybe there'll be a surprise"¦maybe check the credits of the movie when you watch it."

Of course, it's unlikely that Fillion has a major role, as he likely would have been spotted on the set. However, it certainly sounds like there's a strong possibility that Fillion might have filmed a small role for Guardians of the Galaxy.

I've only seen this posted in two places, haven't seen it on some of the bigger sites yet, so be wary.

This would be amazing, I mean from the Trailer this film has a very Firefly like feeling to it so it would be the perfect movie!

What's after Guardians? I mean, I read that thing on Tumblr that said there were dozens of movies that Marvel have in the works depending on how each previous movie is received. If Fillion's in the after-credits scene, it could end up being something like Del Toro from Thor 2, meaning he could have a bigger part in an upcoming Marvel movie.

Is Castle still going on? No sign of it ending? Just speculating about filming.

Marvel have two dates booked after that, May 6th and July 8th, 2016 as release dates and they just announced Captain America will be going up against Batman and Superman in May, so presumably that leaves Thor for July (they haven't confirmed a time for Thor, though they have confirmed there will be a Thor 3)

I hope Castle is over soon, it's run it's course they should let Fillion move onto better things.

To be honest, I don't know how I feel about this. I'm not particularly a huge fan of Fillion, I think he can be quite arrogant at times. I think he's a great actor, but I kinda wanna deflate his head a little, lol.

My first thought was Doctor Strange, he's about the right age, but since there's been so much speculation about Doctor Strange taking over as the main guy after Iron Man, I'm not sure he'd be a big enough star for that, though that cocky thing would work for the character.

Johnny Depp's in talks for Dr. Strange, so unless those talks have fallen through, that character's out as far as Fillion's concerned.

I think that - like most of the characters I've seen him play - Mr. Fillion is one of the most arrogant/cocky people you could meet BUT pulls it off in a likeable way.

I read somewhere that if Guardians does well there will be individual films for the main cast. The scene could be a potential set up for that?

Interesting that they are putting CA against Superman. Why knowingly dilute your market? If that head to head does happen I'll definitely be picking CA. Superman was a train wreck and Winter's Soldier was sublime. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I think Marvel had the date first, but hadn't confirmed what film would be out. The Batman and Superman announced their date, and Marvel seemingly are refusing to back down.
I'm guessing they wanted to see which would do better CA or Thor, and since CA has been destroying in the box office and pretty much excellent reviews it was kinda a no brainer.
Marvel have big balls as a studio, no way they'd back down. I wouldn't be surprised if B&S changes date, Superman had a better opening weekend then CA, but the reviews were so so, CA is doing really well, it would be a bad idea to put their first crossover film up against fierce competition.

I also totally agree, I'll see both, but Superman was nothing compared to CA (I really liked superman, but it was no where near as good as CA). I would definitely see Captain America first.
