Fillion And Longoria Joining The Marvel Crew? Even though Eva Longoria, or Eva Longoria Parker if you will, has teetered away from anything superhero related, we already know that Nathan Fillion is good for the job (example: "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog"). You must be wondering, okay, who could they possibly be? Well rumor has it that Fillion will be cast to be Dr. Henry Pym, better known as Ant-Man. Longoria is being eyed to take the role of Janet Van Dyne aka The Wasp. If this is true, then it'll be a relief to stop talking about whether or not Ant-Man will make it on the screen.

Word has it that if the two do get cast they'll be bound by a contract that has them signed on for "The Avengers" along with their own individual film. One of the pain in the ass things about a rumor is that it's just that, nothing but speculation. Hopefully we'll get a huge announcement from Marvel soon about who's going to be in "The Avengers". After all, if they want to reach their early 2011 filming date, they will need to crack down on who's on board for the cast.

On one hand - I love Nathan and I love the Avengers. I think Nathan's a fantastic actor with a great range and he could pull Dr Pym off really well. (Another plus would be even more eye candy for the movie 😀) On the other hand - it just reeks of Whedon casting his friends. Again.
 
This is pretty awesome, except that it's Antman, who's kinda lame, but the more we see of Fillion the better.
I don't mind if Whedon casts his friends, as long as it's not Dushku.
 
Longoria can go jump in a lake. They need to cast somebody else for Janet.

LOL. I don't really dislike her, but something about "Longoria can go jump in a lake" made me giggle.
The Longoria rumor's been around a long time now, when she was spotted with an Avengers comic. It's looking like it could be true after all. Never really seen her in anything so I'm not sure. Dependent on the writer Janet can be the most awesome character ever or the worst. Fillion's always great, would be fun to see him play a character like Henry especially if YellowJacket shows up.
 
Yeah im OK with Whedon casting his friends when they are good and Nathan is awesome.

Also like Eva so sounds like a good combo to me!
 
I don't think that I've ever seen Nathan give a bad performance, so I have no doubt that he would do the role justice. On the other hand, Ant Man was always my least favorite Avenger. He just seemed to be too much of a direct copy of DC's Atom. On the other hand, when he later became Giant Man/Goliath, I thought he was a much more useful character. As for the wasp, I always hoped that someone would take a fly swatter to her.
