I noticed that Netflix is actually cutting scenes from the show now. Not entirely sure why.. The scene in the Magic Box where the gang sings "I've Got a Theory" The scene ends immediately after Anya's Bunny part. It completely cuts out Buffy's part where she sings "Hey I've died Twice!" and the whole group sing along part. It skips right to the "Mustard" song directly after it.

Does anyone know the reason behind it? At first i thought Netflix was broken or something until I saw that it was happening to a lot of people for a while now. I'm afraid to see what other scenes they've removed now from the series...

Which Netflix are you using? I recently rewatched Buffy using UK Netflix and saw no cuts, either in that scene or any episodes.

When Buffy was in reruns on Much Music (the Canadian equivalent to MTV), they cut Dawn's dance routine after she got captured by Sweet's goons and Tara's "I'm under your spell" music. OWMF topped out at 48:33 minutes:seconds whereas all the other episodes were edited to under (usually) 43 minutes. Maybe those cuts were the answer Netflix had. You might have to go to bit torrents to get the full episode.

As far as I can remember, since OMWF ran so over by such a long amount of time they only showed the full, unedited version on it's original airing. After that, it was always cut to the usual 43 minutes. The only place you can see the whole thing is the boxsets. I have never used Netflix, so I have no idea how that effects it.

I just checked the US vs UK versions and the US is 43 mins and UK is 50, so it's just the cut-down TV version.

Again, stupid decision by Netflix. Between this and the 4:3 they are butchering the show for people watching on Netflix.

I have never watched it on Netflix, so I've never noticed, but my friend watched it last night and was apalled to see that the episode had been "hacked up", as she said.

Plus, they removed Angel from their catalogue. I don't quite see the logic in that, if you're watching one you'll watch the other.

Thanks for the heads up. I have the dvd's but I saw this episode on Netflix. I'll have to watch my DVD copy of this episode, thank you.

Ugh, that's annoying! I first saw Buffy on Netflix a couple years ago, and even if it had been a little part that was cut it still upsets to me to have missed it. At least I know now, so thanks!

Thanks for all the responses guys. I was just curious because Netflix didn't always do that. Luckily I have the complete series on DVD, but I am upset that they took Angel off of Netflix too because I always wanted to do a side by side watch of both series, but I never got a chance. I guess I'll have to save up for the Angel tv Series lol.
