Hello everybody!

I'm a 23 years old new addition to this Forum.
I've been a fan of Buffy since a very long time. I'm currently studying media and communication in Switzerland and this encouraged me to subscribe to a Forum, so that I could talk with people who have the same interests as I do.

So hopefully, I look forward some good conversations about our passion!

Thanks for having me here!

PS: I'm a french native speaker so sorry if my english is not correct every now and then.

Welcome! We have a number of people here who speak languages other than English, including a few French Canadians and a few Scandinavians. For the most part, this is a very civil and polite forum and disagreements are handled by debate rather than name-calling.

You will see certain words used here that do not have the meanings in a dictionary:

ship

can be a noun or a verb. as a noun, it means relationship. As a verb, it means to support a relationship on the show, as some people ship Tara and Willow.

shipper

no, it doesn't have the usual meaning of someone who works in a factory and gets product sent out the door. It refers to someone who is in favour of a particular relationship.

You will see some ships referred to by an elided name which means a name formed from a contraction of the names of the individuals:

Bangel = Buffy and Angel
Spuffy = Spike and Buffy
Tillow = Tara and Willow
Dander = Dawn and Xander
Woz = Willow and Oz
Briley = Buffy and Riley

and there are others. If you go back a few months, you will see the shipping wars between Bangel and Spuffy supporters - Bangels thought that Spuffy was just a horror show of mutual abuse and Spuffies thought Bangel was so sticky sweet that you would need insulin to get through a show. These seem to have died down now, but they were interesting when they were being debated.

Bienvenu au forum! On est quelques francophones ici, donc ne t'inquiète pas, tu n'est pas la seule.

Thank you for the welcome messages.

My favorite characters? Argh, this is a tricky question.

Of course, I like the Scoobies, but I love what I like to call the "bordeline characters". Characters that are good with a dark spot or past, or who understands that nothing can be black or white. So Whedon spoiled me with the characters of BTVS.

I have a huge soft spot for the villains that are well written, such as the Mayor (or Crowley in Supernatural for instance). So I really like the Mayor, Spike of course, Giles, Anya, Glory and Dru... I like Angelus but do not like Angel for instance.

That's a long answer to say a simple thing.
My dream team would be Spike, Giles, Dru, Glory, Anya. And Tara. I simply love Tara.
