New Arrival

Hi everyone, found myself having a short amount of spare, awake moments and thought I'd tell all my BB friends that I am now the proud Mommy of a gorgeous baby girl.
She was born on Tuesday 15th April at 05.57am and was 5 weeks early, but despite that was thankfully perfectly healthy, with no apparent problems. Her Apgar score was seven so she was just within the range of okay, which was a relief so she was able to come home with us. She weighs 6 lbs 3 ounces and is just absolutely perfect:

Sorry about the bad quality of the photo but it was taken with a disposable my Mom got developed at like Superman speed or something, and so had to be scanned in by her and emailed. And I have no clue where the blue lens flare came from...
We've named her Kristine Audrey (We had intended for it to be Audrey Kristine but when I adamantly stated she didn't look like an Audrey, husband helpfully suggested just switching the names around rather than panicking over finding a new name altogether Helpful one, that husband of mine. 😉)
And while this means his name choice (Kristine) gets bumped to first place and she is no longer named after my Grandmother (Audrey- the reason behind my choice), it works out in a strange uncanny way as, because she was early it means that she was born on my Grandmother's birthday.
So yes, to conclude before I babble further, we have a beautiful baby girl at home with us now (I was really worried she was going to be an NICU baby, but barring any future problems she's just fine, phew!) who I just love so much. I actually can't believe how much I do love her. It's kinda curve-bally. It's amazing. And since while everything's getting sorted in house by people who aren't me, I have a spare few right now, I thought I'd just share this news with all my BBers. Especially my Drogynites who have been hearing numerous updates on my pregnancy complaints/worries/panics for the past few months. Bless 'em for putting up with me.
And now after getting about 33 hours in the hospital in which the nurses WOULDN'T STOP PESTERING ME (Hence why I'm home earlier than I perhaps should be. A girl's gotta get some comfy sleep somewhere), I'm off to sleep/nod/snooze. 🙂 For as long as I can anyway....

heehee im also a Christine! and almost had it spelled with a K, my dad changed it last minute to Ch though.

And i was born early too! I was due dec 12th and was born nov 19th and was, just like your Kristine, perfectly healthy.

Well, congrats! im sure you are sooo excited to have a future buffy fan in your midsts lol.

Thanks you guys for the lovely words. And like I said to SW, how could I not think of you guys when we're all busy telling everyone. If it wasn't for all of you my sanity would have given away a long time ago during my oh-so-extended maternity leave.

Right now I'm in the limbo between sleep and not wanting to sleep. Right now, I'm on our bed and Kristine is between me and hubby. THEM two are asleep at the moment (She looking much cuter than he. She keeps scrunching her nose every now and then like a cat..or mouse..or someone whose going to sneeze) while I seem to have devloped temporary insomnia. Should get out of that within the next few hours though if the doctory people were right. And they'd better be....I want sleep while I can get it!

And I am so happy for you. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this was your baby thread. I didn't think it was you because as you've said it's early. BUT now you can have tons of cafe latte.:coffeemug OH NO, you can't if you're breastfeeding LOL

And again, Congratulations to you and your fantastic husband, and we really should have a username for him at Drogyn country. Here's a flower for you :flower2: I prefer orchids but it's out of stock here.

Tell hubby he has to sleep on the floor for a couple of weeks.
Wait until he's watching his favourite tv show then say the baby is asleep, so turn it off.
And in a few weeks, the classic.

At 3:30 in the morning, wake him up saying that you are to tired, it's his turn. He can't argue.
I used to really look forward to that one.
If you get time ! have a read of my fanfic Whose Body is it? it's quite suitable for you and your hubby.

Yep, you told me and now I get to experience the truth up close and personal. Haha. The thing is, I want to do as advised- sleep when they sleep instead of sticking to a regular schedule, but at the moment for numerous reasons the nurses told me but I was a bit too out of it to fully listen to, I just can't sleep full-stop. :sigh:

And yeah, I couldn't believe my...erm, well body, because she was just over a month early. I was adamantly telling Hubby 'no, no. She's early. No, it's not happening. No'. And you're teasing me with the coffee mug icon because for that exact reason I can't have coffee. It's like nature is trying to keep me permenantly away from caffienated beverages....

But all in all, thank you very much for the congrats. And hmm, a place for Husband in the Wonderful World of Drogyn...hmmm...intriguing...haha. And thank you for the flower, it is a very nice flower (despite not being an orchid 😉 haha)

His favorite TV shows are my favorite TV shows (mostly) so that point has a slight flaw....🙂
But yes, I'm loving the three thirty in the morning plan. That one I will use a lot, mwa haha.

I've also got le plan du back-up. My Mom is completely vibing over being a grandparent and since she lives only twenty minutes away she's offering a lot of help. And since I'm not dumb...I'm SO not turning down that offer. 😀
