New Beginnings

Writers note: I changed the format a bit. Instead of saying Buffy said "I blah blah." I'm now gonna write Buffy-"I blah blah."

Chapter 11
Dawn & Spike walked into the lobby but found no sign of a scooby. Dawn looked up as the doors swung open revealing Angel & Buffy.Angel's face etched with concern.
Buffy-"Angel I'm fine. Really I mean........ boy was the room always spinning."
Buffy clutched her head as she fell to the ground. Angel swooped Buffy up into his arms before her head had time to hit the ground. Dawn screamed at the scene unravelling before her.
Dawn-"BUFFY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Angel looked up only now noticing Dawn and Spike. Dawn couldn't see this he wouldn't let her.
Angel:"Spike get Dawn out of here."
Looking from Buffy to Angel to Dawn Spike decided it was best to follow jis orders just this once. He looked at Buffys limp body praying to a god he didn't believe in to leave her be let her live. Because the truth is whether or not he believed it was all he could do for the woman he loved. Spike steered Dawn away, the young girl looking frantically behind her. Angel now looked down at his arms and the woman he loved with all his heart and soul. He slowly carried Buffy up the stairs and into what used to be his room.

Cool chappie though, like how Angel made Dawn get out of the room (again, sounds like an Angel-y thing to do), but awwww! What's with Buffy? She gonna be okay?? Regardless, some updatage would be nifty! :thumbs:

Chapter 12

Xander and Lorne were the next to arrive back at the hotel. Looking around the lobby Xander saw Dawn at the top of the steps.
Xander-"Dawnie are you ok?"
Dawn saw Xander turning to him her eyes filled with tears she ran down the stairs, and into his arms. Xander stroked her hair.
Xander-"Shh. It's alright. Everything is fine."
Dawn looked into Xander's deep brown eye.
Dawn-"It's Buffy."
Looking around the lobby he spotted Lorne who nodded. Xander wrapped Dawn in his arms and walked her to the office. Sitting her down Xander turned to Dawn.
Xander-"Ok Dawnie. I need you to tell me what happened."
Dawn looked up at Xander with the slightest smile as she remembered what she had overheard.
Dawn-"Well me and Spike got here and...."
Xander-"Spike? Spike's here? Alive?"
Dawn nodded she knew how much Xander hated Spike but now wasn't the time to worry about that.
Dawn-"And no-one was here. Then Buffy and Angel walked in and she kinda blacked out into his arms."
Xander looked around the room he felt all air leaving his lungs. Then he remembered Dawn he couldn't be sad not now. Dawn had been there for Xander now it was time for him to return the favour.
Xander-"She's gonna be ok Dawnie. She's a Summers she's strong and she has you."
Dawn smiled just the faintest bit and jumped into Xander's arms.
 
Awww! Another cute update, love the Danderness of it all 😀. Also liked the "Dawn looked into Xander's deep brown eye" bit too, it's something that I almost reread because you get so used to having "eyes" there, so good attention to detail there 🙂

Chapter 13
Buffy opened her eyes slowly but surely and looked around the room. Smiling to herself, Buffy noticed Angel had pulled a chair up to the side of the bed. Clearly watching over her until sleep had claimed him. Buffy smiled and kissed him gently on the head, before sliding out of bed and walking towards the door.
Buffy: “Hello Spike.”
Spike smiled and stepped mysteriously out of the shadows.
Spike: “You know the doc here might not like you out of bed so soon.”
Buffy smiled, although she had moved on with Angel now Buffy would always care for Spike. And it was always good to see a friendly face. Shrugging Buffy continued.
Buffy: “Well you know me. I’m a rebel.”
Suddenly there was a bang as Angel fell off of his chair and looked blankly at the empty bed before him.
Angel: “Buffy?”
Angel turned to see the women he loved and embraced her in his arms. Buffy only grinned a stray tear streaming down her cheek. Spike watched on trying to be happy that Buffy had found love but unable to shake the image of their last meeting from his mind.
Buffy: “I love you.”
Spike: “No you don’t but thanks for saying it anyway.”
Buffy looked around again realizing someone was missing.
Buffy: “Dawn? Where is she?”
Angel tried to calm Buffy sweeping her long blonde hair from her face.
Angel: “It’s ok. She’s downstairs with Xander.”
Buffy nodded and spoke again.
Buffy: “Good. I don’t want her to hear what I’m about to say.”

Meanwhile downstairs…
Dawn and Xander had remained in the office while the groups of 2 had started to roll in. Xander held Dawn in his arms and had watched as she let sleep just wash over her. Suddenly the peace was disturbed as Lorne strolled in a little twinkle in his eye as he looked at the pair.
Lorne: “Sorry kids didn’t mean to interrupt. Just thought I’d let you know that big sis is up with a little bounce in her step too.”
Dawn rose and moved for the door but as her fingers reached the handle she was quickly stopped by the green demon.
Lorne: “Sorry Pumpkin. No-one ‘s allowed up there. Big business. Poor old angel cakes has gone all solemn again too. Besides why would you wanna leave? Things are just staring to get interesting.”
With that Lorne turned and left smiling just ever so slightly. And humming to himself quietly.

Dawn and Xander sat quietly at opposite ends of the room staring at each other yet at the same time avoiding the others glances. Xander's mind mulled through the events of the evening and Dawn's mind focused on the conversation she had over heard in the alleyway. Both tried to work up the courage to reveal their true feelings , both falling short of the mark. Xander watched as Dawn's lips twisted into a smile. He loved the way her lips looked when she smiled, and the way her eyes just seemed to sparkle a little more. Xander couldn't take it anymore he's had enough. If he didn't say it soon he feared he might explode. He needed to be with her, to hold her in his arms and call her his won. Pushing all thoughts of his beloved Anya to the back of his mind Xander finally spoke.
Xander:" DAwn we need to talk."
Dawn tried to hide the happiness that was beginning to consume her.
Dawn:"Okay. You tell me anything you know that."
XAnder nodded and tried to think of the right words to say but nothing seemed to do his feeling justice. He decided to just come right out and say it.
Xander:"Okay I'm gonna go out on a limb here so feel free to jump in at anytime. Although I'm kinda hoping you don't cause it could be a bad sign for me.. What I'm trying to say here is I like you. More then like DAwn I think I'm in love with you. When I look at you I feel as if my head is gonna explode which given the past may actually happen. I understand if you're freaked so you know feel free to slap me and storm right on out but there's just one thing I need to know. Do you have feeling for me?"
Dawn smiled, tears of joy formed in her eyes. Grinning and jumping out of her seat Dawn wrapped Xander in her arms. Xander now grinning with the knowing of what exactly this embrace meant. All he could do was kiss Dawn softly on the head. The two were finally together just as they were always meant to be.
