Hey, I'm a 19 year old Buffy fan from the UK. I'm fairly new to the fandom, but I'd say I'm a pretty big fan (well, big enough to join a forum about it at least 😀).

My relationship with the show began in around 2010, when the first three seasons came onto my (then current) freeview's On Demand service. At first, I started watching it so I'd have something to watch while I was waiting for the On Demand service to put up Season 2 of Heroes. However, the more I watched, the more I enjoyed the show. However, Season 1 vanished (it's time had expired), so I had to skip to Season 2, which I enjoyed more than Season 1. However, I eventually stopped watching for some reason, I don't remember why, but again, I didn't finish the second season, so I stopped watching the show, and hoped that they'd eventually put Season 1 back up so I could start again.

Come 2012, I'd just seen The Avengers (or Avengers Assemble, as it's referred to over here), and it made me want to check out Buffy again, so I was able to track down the series on a website, and spent my summer (among other things) watching Buffy from start to finish. I appreciated the series a lot more the second time around, loving the characters and the storylines they were thrown into. I started watching Angel straight after. While I at first watched the series online, I got up to a certain point, and found that a TV channel was repeating the series, and was at the exact same point in the series that I was up to, so I began watching it on there (it was a much slower process, so slow that I've given up on watching on TV, and am going to watch the rest of the show online). I received the entire series of Buffy on DVD for Christmas, which I have also been watching a lot, and enjoying it as much, if not more, than I did over the summer.

My favourite characters are Oz and Xander, due to the fact that they're the characters that I identify with the most, Oz due to being a guitar player in a band myself, and having a quiet nature not that dissimilar to that of Oz. Xander because we're both pretty big dorks. I also like Giles, Spike, Willow, Buffy, Angel, Faith, Wesley, and Lorne.

My other interests include music (particularly Post Hardcore and Punk Rock), which has been a big part of my life since I was 14, Comic Books, ReBoot, Doctor Who, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, Anime, and Gerry Anderson shows (such as Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Stingray, etc.). Sorry for the massive ramble XD

:welcome: Great introduction. Never be sorry for a ramble. Although sometimes it can get people to skip reading it all. Their loss. Glad you've found the fandom. Hope we get to see you around. If we're talking Jossverse you still got more to get into. Enjoy.

Hey there 🙂
I find it pretty cool you are in a band... Oz is a pretty cool character to identify with. Also, what's great about this forumn is that it has this section called The Bronze for all the non- Whedon interests. You'll find you have a lot more similarities and differing views with others besides your love for Buffyverse!

It's a pretty active forum. I love it because I feel like I can express what I feel about anything without getting personally attacked. It also has a nice, warm friendly vibe to it.

Hope to see you around
🙂

Welcome to the boards! We have a somewhat similar experience with the show -- I tried to watch it in 2010 when the first season was on Hulu, but due to the fact that it was only the first season and given the length of the season, I didn't make it through all of it... then I watched The Avengers and Cabin in the Woods within 48 hours, and that convinced me to go back to Buffy.

I relate a good amount of Oz and Xander, but my favorite characters are rarely characters that I really relate to (my favorite is Faith, and I really don't know if I have anything in common with her), so even though I like those characters, they aren't quite up at the top of my list.
