So, now now that it looks like that Fred is back from the dead full-time and Willow is now recently single does anybody think is there any hope that these two will meet up again?

I seem to remember once upon a time that this pairing was quite popular (more popular that Willow/Kennedy anyway) even though they only had one episode together.

Anyone want to see the two most powerful, adorkable superpowered characters in the Buffyverse become a couple?

Nah. I think that Willow needs an equal and in my opinion, at this point, Fred just does not make the cut. Also, I can't really come up with any ways in which these two characters could push each other into interesting directions or induce character development. I mean, OK, they're together - what's next?

This is the problem. This is the problem. Willow doesn't need anyone. Buffy doesn't need anyone. They should all become asexual and the comics would be much better..

Fred is really back. Alive. That's awesome. I would love to see Fred and Willow hang out again. They were great together. But i don't think i want them in an actual relationship. I don't think Fred is into girls. Although after losing Wesley, maybe she can find something with Willow but i still rathet just see them as good friends.

I do see them as a cute couple with lots in common, but then again maybe they are too a like to work as a couple. But yeah a friendship at least would be good.

Powers and intellect-wise I could make a pretty good case for Fred/Illyria being more than Willow's equal. Magic Town is currently sh*tting itself because of her. If Willow is the 'mother' of new magic, Fred/Illyria is the drunk, angry uncle of the old.
Still I get what you're saying about the last part- how could you make the pairing interesting? I'll have to have a think of that but there are more boring ships in the comics going on right now.

Yeah, its awesome. Looking forward to some Faith/Fred bonding in future issues.

I do think they just click on some level, even if it were just in a friend way it would be nice for Willow to have a friend who's at least as smart as her and somebody who's outside her own little group.
And yeah, I never got any sense that Fred liked Willow in that way, but it would be great to see unexpected character pairings interacting again. Some of this seems to be happening in the comics soon though.

During their short time together when Willow came to put Angel's soul back in Season 4, there seemed to be the potential for a real connection there, certainly more than Willow and Kennedy. It's certainly a story in the making, even if only a brief fling were to come from it. As for a common connection, they're both alone and lonely. That's a good start.

As for anyone in the Buffyverse becoming asexual, Joss enjoys breaking lovers up too much for that to ever happen.

Agreed! What I'm wondering is if the chemistry would translate on paper. I think the writer's probably didn't even meant of Willow and Fred to have that...thing. But Alyson and Amy just had insane on screen chemistry.

Aside from that, ya, I'd ship it. Might be an opportunity to see a bit of the old Willow back. Afterall, everyone says Willow was most like Willow in Orpheus, much more so than she was in s7 of Buffy.
I don't think Fred is into girls

In my head everyone is into girls until proven otherwise 😛

Of course you think that. Lol
Fred's back?!? What about Illyria, her too (New body) or what?

Illyria/Fred share the same body and seem to have a Jekyll/Hyde thing going at the moment in the comics. Or, in another way, Fred is like Bruce Banner, terrifyed of the moster inside her as Angel and Faith try to help.

*SPOILER*

Illyria is currently pissed and tearing up Magic Town, she seems to have regressed somewhat in terms of characterisation in part because she's in 'Angry God' mode. She seems to blame Angel for 'pretending' to care about her during her time at W&H.
Have to see how it all works out.

@thetopher that seems kind of cool actually. I hope it works.

Although it seems like a regression of illyria from s5. She seemed like she was warming up to being human and empathy etc. Last I saw her.
