I hope they really do cut Edward out like they do in the book. It's going to be lame if they keep flashing to what Edward is doing. The book wasn't set up that way - you felt more like Bella because he was barely even mentioned - and the movie should be that way too. Plus it'll give Taylor more screen time which is always a plus. 🙂

Taylor looks fit in this trailer and i can see why people like him but i do hope it sticks to teh book and not changing it more than it has in the trailer, i hate movies when they change the book completely, its just pants then.

I'm kind of gutted with the new trailer, because one of the story arcs in new moon was, what was happening to Jacob, and this has just totally given it away!!
Looking forward to the new film! And can't wait to see more of Alice, my favourite character 🙂 Well..other than Edward 😀

If you mean with Laurent in the field, obviously she doesn't actually call for Jacob and have him come to her aid. That's when...well if you haven't read the book I can't spoil it. It's just two scenes cut creatively.

Bella didn't want to celebrate her birthday and she didn't ask edward for a kiss. They had definitely already been kissing by that point. Also, Edward broke the piano on purpose, not by Jasper being pushed/thrown into it.

So that's not how it happened.

The other wolves came as a pack to save Bella from Laurent and it was in the clearing that she found with Edward, not at Jacob's house. I'm also not even 100% sure Jake was there but I can't remember for sure.

So that's wrong too.

True but I think its pretty common knowledge even among people that haven't read the books that Jacob will eventually be one of the wolves is it not? And since New Moon is pretty much centrally about the wolves I don't know how they'd get around using that in the trailers. I think if you're gonna go out and see the movies you really should be reading the books first anyway though. For one, if you read them you'll be able to get the whole story cause there is going to be SO much left out of the films. Mostly though cause those that haven't read the books will inevitably get spoiled one way or another anyway before the movies come out. In my opinion the best way to enjoy the series is to read the books and genuinely experience the twists and turns as they were intended and then go see the films for what they are, adaptations. Its been a few months since I read New Moon so I can't argue with complete certainty that things in that trailer aren't how they happened in the book, but I know a lot of things are bound to be tweaked and changed from how they happen in the book. The pace without a doubt will be vastly different, thats one of the things that bugged me most about the Twilight movie... I was SO critical of every last detail in that movie. I've come to accept most of the changes by now I guess, but I will go to my grave feeling it felt so insanely rushed. But I'm gonna try to go into New Moon less nitpicky about them not keeping true to the book 100% :biggrin:

Oh and also I must say I'm finding myself quite pleased that the majority of people that have posted on this thread seem to like Jacob more than Edward. For the life of me I don't get how, if you've read all the books, you could possibly be Team Jacob... but whatever, that means more Edward for me! 😉

I dont care about them getting the whole movie right...I knew going in that it was going to be different than the book, as every single book-to-movie adaptation is. But the part where Bella is in the clearing with Laurent is a very pivitol part of the book. It shouldn't have been hard to do correctly.

I completely agree but I don't think the scene in that trailer with Bella and Laurent and Jake running to save her are the same scene. I think jesterjay was right when he said:

I just watched the trailer again and in the field with Laurent she's wearing a blue jacket and a backpack as she starts running away. And then when it cuts to her yelling "Jake run!" she's got no backpack and her jacket looks more brownish. I think they're two separate scenes.

You can definitely tell they are two different scenes. As said, you can see with the outfit changes. I like all the little changes though that they've made that I can see so far. For example, Bella in the meadow where she meets Laurent. In the book, it's the meadow as she used to go there with Edward. But you can clearly see that all the vegetation in dead and brown... which is a great metaphor for how she is dealing with him leaving.

I am super excited for this movie. I am even starting to like Jacob! 🙂

Yes tho the scene is deffinatly more than one scene put together so bella in the movie probably finds out the way she did about jacob as in the book!

I hope liek Twilight it doesnt go too far away from the book tho 😀
