New News on the Charmed DVD

Now I found some news on wb11.com This is what they said:

DVD news: As of right now, no episodes or seasons of Charmed are available on DVD or VHS. As soon as the studio announces a date of release we'll be sure to post it!

I guess that means the Charned DVD is coming soon

I don't understand how a show that got axed after one season like Firefly, can be out on DVD and our Charmed can't be *sighs*
 
I wish they would go ahead and release it, I read somewhere that they hadn't because some of the music used in the episodes are copyrighted and they aren't allowed to release it until 2005, hopefully that site wasn't a reliable place.
 
Aaron Spelling and his production company hold the rights to Charmed and are directly responsible for the descision of (if any) a release date.

i too agree that this show is long over due to be released on DVD. the first three seasons are already classic and will sell heavily im sure.
 
For what I read in a Charmed Board, the dvd hasn't been realeased 'cause they need Shannen's permision to sell it... I mean, 'cause she appears in the show.. when Shannen left the show she took with her the rights of her image (don't know if that's the right word), what I mean is the rights that permit the show to sell something with her in it (or something like that)... so they started to discuss this matter with Shannen at the beginning of 2004. There are no news yet... but I'm sure you'll be thinking "Then why don't they start with season4, then?"... well, I don't know.. but as a fan I would like to have the dvd from the begining and not having season 4 before season 1... don't know.. guess that's only me thinking that way 😛
 
Shannen just agreed to let her "image" as Prue Halliwell be used in an upcoming "Flashback" episode in the current season of Charmed, so perhaps she will also agree to allow the release/usage of her image in the release of the DVD collections.

but it makes perfect sense....and (if i may venture out here for a minute) im sure Spelling and company now realize what a mistake they made in not treating Shannen Doherty better in that whole situation that led up to her departure.
 
I know with the Roswell DVD release it had to do with the music rites. So that is probley another part of the reason. You figuare Charmed is in it's 6th season. I know I would luv the get the dvd's if and when they come out.
 
I wish they'd get it out soon because I've recently started watching Charmed on the Living Channel and only caught the odd glimpse of the earlier episodes and it'd be nice to get a good solid background of the show, with some of the episodes (and ideally a glimpse at Prue's character!)
 
Yea I have heard that they have wanted to for a while but there are some things they still have to work out. I really hope they come out soon, but it will probably be longer then i hoped.
