I dont know, I had the same problem with it on the first poll!!!

IP is like your computers phone number on the internet, basically an IP address as its called is used by protocol that dictates how computers talk to each other. does this explaination help at all?

Yeah I get what ya mean, so sumone else on this board has the same number as me!!!!!

I'm confused Buffy Summers. Isn't a user's identity recorded with a cookie placed at log-in so that it recognizes you according to your registration information.

If it was connected to your IP, people would be double booking everytime they shared an ISP in the same city, wouldn't they? Also some people don't have static IPs. Wouldn't they be able to vote multiple times? Couldn't you vote multiple times with proxies if you were identified by IP?

Is this a special kind of poll?

This is interesting. Can you straighten me out?

PS.

Oh, OK. I see what you mean... The poll on the main page, right? I'm guessing you can vote whether you're registered or not.

So if some script kiddy, buffy fan came along, and wanted to, he could pretty much make the poll results say whatever ever he wanted, by changing his IP each time he voted, right? (not that anyone would ever do that, of course)

ho shiz...i didnt even know i had a thread like this...thanks yall...i'll try to think of some iller polls...

yo...just put it this way...ip is just a identification number for your computer...like your computers name..
