I know right! I dont have a printer anymore, but my dad just buys a brand new printer with ink every time he needs one. Its almost the same price as the ink alone and not as fiddly. Crazy stuff.

@hoponlilmama If you buy the ink and refill the cartridges yourself, it can be a lot cheaper. If you can successfully refill the cartridges, which is not easy to do and some cartridges are likely easier than others.

It would likely be a disaster for me! There are a couple of alternatives which I might look into. Thankfully I don't use my printer on a regular basis.

Don't shake or exchange the cartridge when wearing light-coloured clothing. Learned that one the hard way.

I got banned from chroelle subreddit the other day. Today I discovered the inbox, which I didn't know existed. Got a few messages after the ban from people saying they agreed with me.. I hate that! If they agreed they should have said so at the time! Cowards! But they wanted to save their own butts from the banhammer. All I said was that Jojo's non binary plotline on Big Brother was dropped once she started to like Chris. Apparently, that was a bannable homophobic slur. Doesn't matter much anyway cos I can still read it, I dont have tiktok and they post all the screenshots, that's all I wana see lol.

I had a terrible dream. I was trying to take a friend and her daughter out to one of my old riding schools. We drove and drove for ages, but it was just more houses and shops.
Eventually we stopped in a warehouse shop where the riding school used to be. They had robot horses with a screen in front of them. Ladies were offering snacks and massages as people sat on the robot simulators, riding through countryside that didnt exist any more.
No one was wearing riding gear, all slippers and spaghetti string tops provided by the establishment. Carrying little sewn bags of grooming brushes from the original riding school that couldn't be used on robot horses (that didnt have heads cos a head would get in way of the screen).
It was AWFUL. But I woke up and realised its true. That riding school is gone now, houses do take its place. And the activists have all but destroyed the horse riding industry at the riding school level. Now I have renewed appreciation to what my neighbours double my age have lost in the name of progress.
What a depressing start to the day. I'm going back to sleep. Let me dream of fairies or chris hughes instead.

One of the worst opening times I see on shops is "Open Early 'til Late".
Thank you for that precision timekeeping.
It's so if it's a quiet night they can close early. A lot of places don't do opening times if they aren't chain brands, so they can be flexible with their hours.

Its fun ๐ Its very very different in the UK to Australia. A lot of your horses are stabled with fancy arenas and actual horse trucks, so its MUCH more expensive. We just chuck them out in paddocks here, ride on sand arenas haha its rare to see a horse lorry, most people tow floats. I follow a few UK accounts on instagram, but they are mostly RDA/para riders or the kids on the elite showjumping circuit (BIG money).

If you just want ground skills to start with, you could volunteer at your local RDA (Riding for the Disabled) They will teach you to lead, tack up and handle horses and the horses are generally as safe as you can get. They might be able to direct you to a suitable school or pony club. Books and Lessons are where we all begin. Some yards might let you do yard work in exchange for lessons (this is how I learned). Once you know the basics, more options open up - like free lease or share horses. Then you can figure out the direction you want to go, dressage, showing, jumping or just a happy hacker doing trail rides. Dont fall for the need for the expensive matchy matchy gear. Secondhand gear is generally good quality over there and the only thing I would say you need to buy of your own to start with is a helmet and boots. Never buy a secondhand helmet, always buy new and replace it after falls.

It took me half an hour, sweat, tears, thankfully no blood (that I know of) but I have finally succeeded in the goal I've been wanting for years: I made twin dutch braids in my hair!!!
I've only ever been able to do regular, boring braids that start behind my ear when I do one at each side. I kept getting frustrated when I was practicing french/dutch. I taught myself a regular french/dutch braid last year and now my skills are good enough that I decided to power through.
