Jens Grohmann from Germany sent along this link to a German site that lists upcoming movie releases in Germany. As reported at IMDB, they list February 3rd, 2005, for a release date. This isn't "official" confirmation, but it does seem to be in line with previous reports we have seen. As we have come to learn, ANY reports outside of official channels need to be taken at face value. Still no word on release dates for other countries, so those in the UK, Australia, U.S., France, etc, continue to wait and see.

The production continues to wait on various administrative and post production processes to be finished up. The word is VERY positive on the latest cut of the film and it still looks like the film will be delivered to Miramax/Dimension in November/December time frame. Of course, then we must wait for Dimension to figure out what they want to do with the film. Given what we have seen and information from the production, Dimension should be pleased with the end results. As we reported, there is a lot of personnel shifting going on at Miramax/Dimension, so beyond the normal stuff, the film will have to fight for its release with all that going on. Nothing is ever easy in the Crow world.

Please use the original source for the article not Buffynu. The original source is always stated above the article.

If this is true then it doesn't surprise me at all. The only movie from The Crow graphic novels to show any potential, depth and talent was of course the original. And don't even get me started on the fact that they re-made it to do The Crow: Stairway To Heaven movie before branching as a link to the trashy tv show that thankfully got cancelled.

Do the book some justice, let it go.

The Crow: Wicked Prayer on DVD

http://www2.bloody-disgusting.com/index.php?Show=2925&Template=newsfull

After exchanging soft blows with an actress in the film (story) and warding off rumors from other websites regarding the release of Dimension Films' The Crow: Wicked Prayer, it looks like we were right on the money. In a special DVD holiday issue of Variety, Dimension announced the next 'Crow' film as one of their direct-to-video DVDs for 2005, alongside Hellrasier: Hellworld/Deader and The Prophecy sequels. I guess the reports are true- the film is terrible, but you'll be able to judge for yourself sometime in 2005. Lance Munjia's film stars Edward Furlong, Tara Reid, David Borianaz, Dennis Hopper, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Marcus Chong, Tito Ortiz, Rena Owen, Danny Trejo and Macy Gray.

A straight to video release wouldn't surprise me at all.

Although in slayerpower's post, whoever wrote that story spelled David's name wrong!! That immediately makes me think they don't know what they're talking about, if they can't even get the name correct.

Cover Art Looks like its now available to order.

The words cheap and nasty looking spring to mind here. Edward Furlong as The Crow, it looks so wrong on so many levels.

ya...he really doesnt suit the whole Crow thing at all even if he is a new charecter. the make-up looks horriable on him and tacky.

But isnt DB suppose to play a villan in this movie? if so than why does he look so innocent in the cover?

Our own Jacklyn has masterfully reviewed this "classic" slice of cinema on her website HERE .

I tell ya, I was sort of wanting to watch this movie just to check out David Boreanaz's performance. To my often warped mind, it would've been like watching something akin to "The Crow versus Angelus".
But after reading Jacklyn's review, I suppose I'll save my money and go read a good book, instead.

Much like Faith said earlier, I really wish they would just let this so-called "franchise" die. Sequels shouldn't even have been a twinkle in a screenwriter's eye. A complete waste of time for everyone involved.

Just a question, though. Why do subsequent "Crow" incarnations always use the "mask of irony"? That was something specific to the original Eric Draven character, and would have no significance to these other Crows. I never understood that.

OMG, the first one is awesome! The rest are crap, but fun, anyway. I haven't seen any beyond the first one and parts of the 2nd, but I'm going to have to rent Wicked Prayer, cuz I lurve DB.
*Splutters* Oh this needs rectified.

And you should only see the first one. Regardless of cast the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ones will be/are all crap.

You think I'll get away with not seeing it? Stephs clearly a fan. judging by the posters and dvds 🙂

Oddly I was JUST about to post a thread on this, but I wanted to look first so I wouldn't get into trouble. This was the movie where he had 666 on his chest right?
