Teep (Theresa) posted the following yesterday on the More Than Spike board on This Page

"Hi All, Word on the street is that IDW publishing has a Spike one-shot currently scheduled for August. To make it even better, the rumor is that it will be written by Peter David "“ one of my all time favorite sci-fi authors"¦ WHOO! HOO!"

Be sure and go to the page at the link above and scroll down to the message by ryall who is Chris Ryall, Editor-in-Chief, IDW Publishing. He said, in part: "However, the Spike one-shot is just a way to get something out there for the fans while the first miniseries is going. We listen to ya--I got inundated with postcards asking for Spike comics. While that was the plan all along, I did look to get a first Spike book out there sooner to keep people from waiting any longer. However, don't worry--all of Angel's supporting cast, and especially Spike, are going to see a lot of action in subsequent tales." 😀

Do we know if this a post Angel season 5 adventure?
From what I read on Peter Allen David's site at www.peterdavid.net, it's not post Angel season 5; it "shows what happened at the party after William fled into the night to meet his vampiric fate." He also says that "...as promised, the story discusses the first meeting of Spike and Hallie, the Vengeance Demon"; in addition to that, what could be considered a spoiler is in his entry from March 24th, so you can read it there if you don't mind spoilers. 🙂

Peter has some of the art work for the one-shot (by Fernando Goni) on his site: http://peterdavid.malibulist.com/archives/002756.html Great art work, IMO. 😀

As in the original message above, I am guessing that it's still scheduled to be released in August. Does Amazon.com usually have graphic novels for pre-orders like they do books, DVD sets, etc?

I dont like reading things unless they're canon because i get confused i.e. pretty maids all in a row messed with my head

I got my copy and let my daughter have him autograph it for her at the Toronto con last week-end. 🙂 Since I had pre-ordered it, I didn't get a choice of which cover (the photo cover vs. the art cover); I got the photo cover but wish I had gotten the other (though it's a very nice photo of James, so I'm not really complaining). I'm very pleased with it and sales have exceeded expectations, from what I've read. 😀 Maybe that will encourage TPTB that we need more Spike/Spike-centric products and a Spike movie even. 😉
