New Thor will be female

If its good its good, if its bad its bad. But I do think Portman should move on from Jane. She doesn't need to be tied into a franchise.

Really Anyanka Bunny Slayer? No mention of her having gone to oversee the SKA in South Africa, that she fell of a dish and died after 15 minutes, off-screen?
 
How about if Thor holds the wrong hand up and is struck by several lightning strikes, as seen from the back.
 
Well, you if you know the source material ... the actual source material ... then you'd know Thor dressed in drag to marry a a male jotne.

He impersonated Freya in order to reclaim the stolen Mjolnir. The thief would only return it if the lady in question would submit to being his bride.

Oh and Octavia, so what is Chris is to fat, the freshly back from the dead Black Widow could be seen up the duff, got a bun in the oven etc: et cetera. Hence a 9 month acting break for Chris to get in shape.
 
Tadanobu Asano, who appeared in Marvel Studios’ Thor and both of its sequels as Hogun, a member of the Warriors Three, has reacted to the news that Natalie Portman’s character Jane Foster will assume the mantle of Thor in the forthcoming sequel Thor: Love And Thunder.

Asano said of the news, “It’s fantastic! I love Marvel, and I’d love to see this movie. It’s a great thing for female fans. There are limitations to what men can do. For example, watching Captain Marvel I felt it would not be the same movie if she had been a man. When the female characters go into battle, they inspire bravery in their male comrades. I’m only speculating, but a female Thor could give birth, right? (Current Thor star) Chris Hemsworth can’t do that, but Natalie Portman could, which opens up new possibilities – Thor could actually have a child! Chris wore a "fat suit" to appear that way (he described it as "weighing about 75 pounds," and being terribly hot) so getting back into fighting trim won't be all that big a deal for him. Also, as to Black Widow, I'm not giving up hope on her returning from the dead, especially if her stand alone movie is as popular as I think it will be. For that matter, some sort of story line featuring the return of Iron Man and a rejuvenated Steve Rogers shouldn't be ruled out entirely at some point in the future, even if different actors play the roles. (They could always use the "parallel universe" gimmick if they don't want to come up with anything more original) No one ever really dies in the comics, and the MCU obviously has its oricins in the comics.

I have high hopes for the Black Widow film! Exploring every aspect of her history, most especially her love affair with Bucky.
Seriously, Black Widow is probably older than she looks, given that the USSR. Making the film a flashback told at her funeral, perhaps with the Crimson Dyanamo and the greatest villian of all, the Red Ghost and the Super-Apes. There are plenty of Cold War heroes and villians that don't work in an modern context, and if nothing else, you have to beat the Americans into space.

Regarding Thor, I'm more disappointed in the lack of a good Thor movie, as opposed to Avengers Week, or Planet Hulk, or whatever Thor 2 was. I mean, the whole Asgard scenario is gone now, and it was never really well explored.

Marvel is hot, and likely can make any film and people will see it, except for Inhumans. But then again, so was Star Wars.

She, supposedly, was given a variant of the Super Soldier serum, which gives her a longer life span, along with strength, speed, and reflexes not quite the equivalent of Steve Rogers. For something so rare, the MCU seems to abound with recipients of that stuff, including Captain America, who seems to have had the final, perfected formula, the Red Skull, the Black Widow, the entire Winter Soldier group, and even, according to Fury in "The Avengers," the Hulk, and even something similar that gives the Black Panther his powers. They must pass it out like candy.
 
I was hoping for Beta Ray Bill lol.

But, as long as they don't do female-Thor the way they did in the comics then it could be okay.

But I can't help but feel the franchise would be better served by introducing Marvel heroines from the comics that haven't actually gotten a shot yet.
 
Re: Supersoldier: Seriously, the intellectual power of United Nations Security Council, Canada and Latvaria over sixty years can't recreate the work of one Scientist. And three advanced star empires of bird men, reptile men and blue guys can't figure it out, either. If you go by Ultimate Continuity, all superheroes, except for Thor, probably, are byproducts of trying to recreate said serum. And you know there's probably a vat of the stuff in The Museum of Not Trusting Outsiders, Birnin Zana, Wakanda. I mean, assuming Wakanda has museums, depending on what week it is, tribal law could forbid the building of museums, it is somewhat arbitrary and capricious. I suppose the Age of Marvels is permanently affixed to the late 1960s, where science truly was dangerous, computers were not all powerful, and there was no easy way of recreating the serum if you lost it, but everything seemed it would be solved in the next few years.

Anyanka Bunny Slayer, there is a benefit of that Portman girl being Thor, as if you had need to refer to Thor as a girl, you'd get away with it.
How about the chicky babe who was Portman's characters sister in Thor?

Also, and its a little OFF TOPIC here, but what would Thor's female name be? Thora ?

I guess I'll have to retract this. According to Feige in an interview, Jane actually does assume both the mantle and the name of Thor, and Hemsworth's character refers to himself only as "Odinson" from here on. I guess it's just another case of the ladies taking over the MCU.
