Hey there, everyone.
I can't believe it took me this long to find this place. An entire ACTIVE forum just for discussing Buffy/Angel? This is really awesome.
The first time I discovered Buffy/Angel was Buffy's season 6 finale, "Grave." I turned on the TV early to watch a show, and caught the last two acts of "Grave." The writing and acting quality of Xander's famous yellow crayon speech really caught my ears, so I turned away from my computer (I was working on a paper at the time) and watched.
I was hooked from that point on. Buying the boxsets, reading stuff online, discovering Angel over at the WB...
Since then I've remained a Buffy/Angel fanatic. I got my girlfriend hooked too. We just finished watching all of Buffy/Angel this weekend (took about a year to finish all 12 seasons of both shows). We finished off "Not Fade Away" Saturday night. We made big deals out of the series finales for both shows. Special dinners, gourmet icecream, and I even ordered her a cool "Chosen" shirt from cafepress.com and made her a Buffy/Angel soundtrack that I compiled myself. Today she had to stay home sick and she spent the whole day reading my Buffy comics.
I also have several Buffy/Angel books, all the comics, and quite a few collectibles. Most of it is Angel stuff. I love both shows, but I've always been just a little tad more drawn to Angel. I think I just like the darker edge the character and show as a whole has--both in tone and themes.
So that's me and my Buffy/Angel fandom. Other things about me: high school English teacher, magician, vegetarian, animal lover, writer. Love playing music and fitness.
I love the community you guys got going on here and I'm really enjoying the boards so far. I look forward to talking with all of you. My favorite stuff to discuss is usually the storytelling, character arcs, and themes. As a non-pro writer I really look to Buffy/Angel as a place to study my craft. And nothing is as well-written as Buffy and Angel. Nothing!
